The testing to determine R-Value is done in a very controlled environment where heat transfer is measured in terms of conduction heat properties only, not convection or radiant. Conduction is the thermal transfer of heat through a material like the handle of a pot when the pot is heated. Radiant transfer is the transfer of heat through the air waves like the sun's radiant heat in the summer.
There are a number of insulation related problems that are inherent with home and commercial building that when left un-treated will dramatically reduce the insulation properties of a dwelling and over time will cause severe structural damage. Insulation is tested for conduction heat transfer only and not convection heat transfer.

Did a fantastic job on my second story cape cod! The best option for insulting that type of space. I researched several spray foam companies in the area and they offered the best value by far. Our home was built in 2006 and there is living space (bedrooms) above the 3 car garage. Those rooms were always significantly warmer in the summer and colder in the winter due to insufficient insulation in the garage ceiling/walls. I contacted Jeremy at Coler Insulation for an estimate. He was quick to respond, was able to get me an estimate quickly and scheduled the work in a timely manner.
The price was honest and more than fair compared to competitors.
