Under no circumstances should anyone consider Solar Generation for solar power installation! I have dealt with numerous contractors and have never met anyone as unprofessional as the owner, Mr. McMenemy. Additionally, he provided fourth rate service. His team installed my panels in a field and did a terrible job filling in the trenches--they used ballast from my driveway instead of topsoil and covered it up with straw presuming I would not notice. More importantly, his team dammed my stream with rocks to bury the electrical conduit. This lead to flooding in my field during heavy rain. When I told

I'm a professional science journalist, and author of eleven books, and am fussy about my home. I used Solar Generation because of high recommendations and I wasn't disappointed. They did a truly first class job, first with their recommendations for placement (in my case, not on my roof) then in the installation. So happens, NY State inspectors check over a small percentage of finished jobs, and the inspectors picked me. I contacted Solar Generation for my own house and my father in law's house. They were prompt, didn't push anything on me, and listened to my concerns without being dismissive. The sales man Richard was also able to explain things to me in a manner I could understand unlike another company.
They handled all the paperwork, and calling Central Hudson for me was much appreciated. Warranties on all the products and workmanship, and they were fast at installing my roof panels in just two days.

Solar Generation has installed 2 arrays on my property. Both pole mounts. Both experiences were smooth and flawless from beginning to end. I had done extensive research beforehand and decided to go with a smaller, local co. because I figured the customer service would be better and I was absolutely right. Any problems that I have ever had were dealt with very quickly and without questioning or hassle. A lightening strike blew out the inverter. That was taken care of and they installed some surge protectors at no cost. They explained the financing very clearly and never pushed, prodded, cajoled

The crew at Solar generation was excellent! The initial visit was informative and I got all my questions answered. Todd was really knowledgeable and reviewed various options for financing. The office crew was great and kept me up to date on the progress of permits and grants and when to expect a start date. The install crew was wonderful, even going so far as to try and be respectful of my need to sleep during day due to a night shift schedule. They were prompt, friendly and very respectful of our neighborhood. They were great with our dog, who is very curious and wants to be in the middle of everything
