We cover the entire commonwealth of Virginia and the North Eastern part of North Carolina and are located in Chesapeake, VA. We do commercial, institutional, governmental work including new and re-roofing, repairs, maintenance. This company has a division that fabricates sheet metal, including items such as like copings, gutters, scuppers, chimney caps, etc.
1970 Miles Roofing, Inc. is incorporated by J.D. Miles, Jr. as a sister company to J.D. Miles & Sons, Inc. 2004 J. Dudley Miles III is inducted into the Virginia Association of Roofing Contractors' (VARC) hall of fame. 2007 J.D. Miles Roofing, LLC opens in Charlottesville, VA serving central and northern Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia.
The founder and owner J. D. Miles established J. D. Miles & Sons in what was then Norfolk County as a roofing firm in 1910. The small roofing company grew over the years with several of the Miles children growing into the business. Joe Miles, Jr. and Claude Miles, both sons of the founder, purchased the business from the estate of J. D. Miles, Sr. upon his untimely death in 1948.
J.D. Miles, IV joined the family firm in 2001. J.D. was promoted to President of J.D. Miles & Sons, Inc. and Vice President of Miles Roofing, Inc. in 2006. He oversees the day to day operations of the commercial and residential roofing divisions and serves as Manager of Information Services. J.D. is Past President of the Virginia Association of Roofing Professionals.
Ray began his roofing career with our firm in 1985 as a sheet metal apprentice right out of high school. Ray moved up the ranks and within three years was a sheet metal foreman supervising sheet metal crews. Ray took a small hiatus from Miles and worked with another roofing firm for one year and a half as the department manager in charge of the sheet metal division.
