Services
Smart Yards is a sustainable landscaping cooperative and startup project of Human Agenda, a non-profit organization. The democratically run business advances collaborative and regenerative economics, promotes sustainable landscaping, and fosters an egalitarian business model. Elizabeth Sarmiento has a deep love for nature and its innate value in our lives.
Smart Yards Co-op is happy to provide volunteering, training and internship opportunities to college students, environmentalists, nature lovers and aspiring landscapers. Apricots - the unofficial sign that summer has begun. Although originally from Armenia, the apricot tree thrives in climates such as the one we have right here in the Bay Area.
Smart Yards Education brings people together to raise awareness of the financial, environmental and aesthetic benefits of ecological and climate appropriate landscaping. We conduct workshops for homeowners and landscapers to teach permaculture design principles and provide step-by-step hands-on instruction of sustainable landscaping skills.
