Services
An assortment of 30" box to 84" box Ironwoods, Native Mesquites, Foothill and Blue Palo Verde dug directly from the desert are the more common native trees we carry. A collection of boxed specimen cacti and shrubs are also available upon request. For more information on availability and pricing please contact us.
The City of Phoenix and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers were cost-sharing partners on the multi-purpose Tres Rios Ecosystem Restoration project, which focuses on a seven-mile stretch of the Salt and Gila Rivers west of the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Analysis includes species identification and determination of caliper, height and width of canopy and ability to be successfully salvaged. A plant list is generated which includes all of the data collected by GPS inventory personnel. When necessary, GPS project coordinators submit inventory/salvage plans and work with government officials through the review process, until plans are approved and the client obtains permission to salvage plants.
The Native plant salvage process consists of preparing a plant for removal by boxing and containerizing the roots. Placing native trees in boxes allows them to be relocated to either a new location or a nursery where they can be maintained until development is complete.
As part of the tree salvage process, NRI is the industry leader in moving large trees to the onsite nursery or final planting location. Using an assortment of large loaders, backhoes and cranes, we are able to move trees that can weigh up to 50,000 pounds. As part of our tree sales division, NRI can transport large boxed trees throughout the state, using our semi trucks and many years experience procuring wide load and oversize permits.
