Vergara Construction is named for founder, owner and project manager Luis E. Vergara. Luis founded Vergara Construction in 2003 in Sacramento, California to specialize in concrete services. His decision to focus on concreting followed several years in construction subcontracting and as a licensed General Contractor.
Driveway concrete is mixed with a high cement content and reinforcing material in order to handle the weight of cars. The same goes for parking lot concrete. It's mixed to withstand tons of vehicle weight. Vergara Construction will determine the cause and facilitate the repair - with an expert eye toward preventing future damage to your driveway.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience. I see alot of great reviews and I am happy for them. We were not so lucky. I paid them $3,000 for the worst slab I've ever seen in my life. I used to work for RCI concrete in Vallejo CA. So I know what it's supposed to look like. Our slab has like 6 or 8 low spots and it creates puddles that won't dry out. Luis tried to tell me that it was normal. He even started watering my other concrete slab to try to find low spots. He didn't find any. I have included pictures. I know they didn't do it on purpose but unfortunately we are stuck with this terrible work.

Great job by Luis and team replacing several sections of our cracked driveway. But to me the most valuable thing was when something DID go wrong he stood by his work and fixed it. Somehow during pouring, a sprinkler line running under the pad was broken. He and his team came back out once we realized it, diagnosed the problem and replaced the section and lines with no fuss.

Luis and his team did such a fabulous job with our driveway that I keep getting compliments and requests for his contact information! He made sure the job was done to our specifications and we couldn’t be happier. The additional space has already been put to use and looks so much better than our previous dirt patch. We hired Vergara Const. to install a concrete patio in our backyard. Not only did our new patio turn out just the way we wanted it, Luis and his crew were great to be around. They are friendly, professional, and thorough. The office staff responded quickly to any questions/scheduling and revisions, as she was also very kind. I had problems with my cars scraping as I pulled in. The downtown streets have a high crown, and the angles didn't work. Even our Honda

Excellent service at reasonable prices. Luis put in the extra effort to solve complex drainage challenges with my yard when installing my patio and RV pad, he even added additional drains not included in the bid at no charge to me just to be sure. I am happy to give Vergara Construction a 5 star review. Excellent service and great work. Even though we were a small job, they treated us like a valuable customer and didn't just brush us off. We will be bringing Luis and his team back for more work in the spring since we have a whole yard to redo.
First of all, the owner Luis actually returned phone calls, came out when he said he would, and gave us a written quote right when he was there. Those may sound like little things, but are rare in the construction trade and speak a lot about how he operates.

Luis and his crew were awesome! They were prompt, efficient, friendly, and worked really hard. This was the first time we've had any kind of work done. Luis was so great about walking us through the process and helping us realize out outdoor room dreams. We had about 1000sqft of concrete poured. It looks Beautiful! And creates the foundation and cohesion we really wanted and needed to make our yard way more functional and usable! We will definately have Luis and his crew come back for our next phase!

The cracks are getting larger, and I'm including photos of the one showing that the spacing of the joints is off and the crack is occurring where a joint should have been. My evidence is that one is on the left but ten inches off from the right side. Regardless of the joint, it seams outlandish that this concrete would be cracking at 2 months, its still not done curing. The city inspector for Sacramento came out and appraised the situation. He says it's more likely an accelerant was added to the concrete causing this odd discoloring and quick cracking.

Seriously. This is the best I've seen and the best price I could have gotten. Not only did they do the custom job we wanted for our backyard, but they improved on it! They had great ideas and methods for executing a beautiful end product. We had an ugly step that was barely to code before they came and gave us a half moon step into a custom slab with a walkway. All with appropriate drainage pitch and perfect brush finish. If you find a lower price, they will beat it. I had three contractors come out and give me an estimate and their initial offer was already lower and their ideas for execution

Luis is generally rude and disrespectful. He is unwilling to compromise. He can't seem to respond to any kind of reasonable requests, and will even mock you if he disagrees with you. Truly terrible interaction throughout.
I wasn't surprised at all when I read the other reviews, especially one about him messing up a driveway despite a freeze warning, then doing a poor patch job. Stubborn behavior again and again. I'm sure you could find a contractor with better behavior, for a better experience overall. Otherwise, consider yourself warned...

Luis is a professional and provided a thorough and reasonable bid. His office staff was efficient and knowledgeable. Our driveway, sidewalk, and side yard were prepped and poured quickly. The result is attractive and most definitely has improved the value of our home. Luis and his crew worked nonstop to provide quality work and left the work area in good condition. Luis and his crew turned our backyard from a mud pit into an oasis. In only 6 days, they installed drainage, sprinkler systems, stamped concrete, electrical conduit, a two-tier retaining wall / planter box, and sod. We could not be happier with their work. Luis listened to our original direction, gave us helpful feedback, and responded perfectly when we changed the direction on him. They perfectly executed our vision for our backyard. Started out as what I thought would be a good experience. Luis seemed to know his stuff and I had some pretty exact dimensions that I needed my shop pad to be in order to put a building on it.
However that went down hill fast when they decided to pour the cement even though it was going to be freezing temps that night. I brought this up with Luis before pouring and he said it would be fine. Lo and behold the top layer of the cement froze and never set correctly.
They initially tried to use some kind of "patch" he said on it, and scraped off the top layer and put this patch stuff

They are not BBB Accredited.
They reply below states they could not reach me but be assured that when I wasn't there, my wife was home.
Vergara Construction took our payment(s) and ran. If we hadn't paid him (as he claims below), he would have filed a lien on the home. Flat-out lie. Eventually we would find out that the firm had several small claims cases against him in both Placer and Sacramento Counties.
We even had to pay the concrete truck
