Our condo flooded on the 4th of July causing extensive damage. I connected with Hamel who came out to replace the hardwood floors and kitchen island. The team from Hamel did incredible work in a timeframe that most people told me wouldn't be possible. Hamel was incredibly responsive and transparent during the process and really went above and beyond. Very stressful being displaced due to flooding but Hamel made the entire experience a lot easier. 10/10 would recommend!!

In late January our condo leaked, causing water damage. Hamel was recommended by the master insurance company. While they initially appeared responsive and understanding, we noticed many problems after the repairs were "completed," some of which were never addressed. My wife was pregnant for the duration of the repairs, so we could not live in the unaffected areas of the apartment while repairs were taking place. We had to put our items in the unaffected areas and live in a hotel. Below are some of the major issues:

If I could give a hundred thousand stars for Paul at The Hamel Company, that wouldn't be enough to mark the appreciation, respect and gratitude for the miracles he and his crews accomplished after the horrible flood in our building (due to a pipe that burst on the fourth floor... the fire department arrived but were unable to locate the shut-off valve and so the water continued to pour into many of the condo units here for some time). I can't recommend Hamel Company enough. I was referred to Matt to rebuild my bathroom from another company that I had used to dry it out due to it being flooded. Everything needed to be taken out - floors, walls, etc.

I have not written a review in such a long time, but this company is definitely well deserving of a 5 star review, and any referrals I can possibly give. I was introduced to Matt through another company when my Cambridge condo had recent extensive water damage, causing somewhere between $40-50K in damages / repairs. I live in California now, and rent my condo out. Matt took all the stress off my plate. He was available right away, ALWAYS responsive in phone, text or email, and worked seamlessly with my insurance.

I was initially dealing with another Company, ATI, that was recommended to me by my Insurance company. However, it was very non-responsive so I started looking elsewhere. We needed repair work done for walls, window moldings, baseboard due to damages from last winter's ice dam and burst pipe. Additionally, we also need to repair water stains in texture ceiling of family room. Ed's crew did a great job and finished in a day. They were gone by the time I came home from work. I saw some minor issues (i.e. some spots needed more paint, slight crack on wall still visible) in the daylight

In April, my apartment was completely destroyed by water damage due to a bad roofing job. Servpro had to come in and strip the place down to the studs. Matt Hamel and his crew came storming in the day after Servpro left and rebuilt this place BETTER than it was before. Matt was always clear and transparent about costs, add-ons, schedule, and everything. He was understanding when the insurance company gave me issues and was very professional.

One month into moving into a new place, the worst happened. The water line off the fridge fell off and caused leak that damaged our second floor kitchen and first floor bedroom and garage. I was recommended Hamel Painters from the company that helped dry out our place and Matt and the company have been the bright spot in the entire process.

One of the best contractors I have worked with. I own multiple units in Boston and have had to have work done many times. I hired Matt after significant water damage occurred at one of my units. He was extremely responsive, handled my tenants things professionally and completed the job ahead of schedule. The workmanship of the walls that he put up, new hardwood floors he installed and painting were all top quality. Matt is now the contractor on the top of my list for future needs. Highly recommended.

I can highly recommend Hamel Painters. The estimate was very detailed (digitally measured), the work started as scheduled, and the paint job was excellent. Matt came out on short notice to provide an assessment on the work that needed to be done and was very responsive throughout the entire process with the numerous questions and request that we had. He also would give us advanced notice if there were any delays in getting materials (this was out of their hands, of course) and when they were planning to come out.
His crew was very professional and courteous during all of their time spent at our home and ultimately did a fantastic job, in some cases going above and beyond our expectations
