Our craftsman are passionate about residential remodeling with projects such as: second story additions, room additions, kitchen remodeling and more. San Diego has been the only area SJB Construction Inc. has operated in with majority of projects being residential.

We recently bought a fixer-upper that hadn't been renovated since it was built in the '60s, so we enlisted SJB to help us modernize it. We tore down walls and fireplaces, replaced all the floors and fixtures, and even added a second floor with a killer master bathroom. Steve and his crew were phenomenal; the quality of work is fantastic and Steve was great at addressing any questions after we moved in. He was very knowledgeable and by-the-book—no cutting corners—so I'm confident our new home will be in good shape for years to come.

A year ago I sought out a contractor to build a room addition. I found SJB Construction through Google searches and other research. 5 stars on Yelp, good BBB profile, I felt like I was making a good choice.
The day my project started was a foreshadowing of things to come. Steve had told me I wouldn't need to move out of my existing bedroom until " the last month ". The very first day, his crew began removing stucco from the side of my house and smashed my master bedroom window. They boarded that window up. Steve and his team took our 80-year old home and brought new life to it. The integration from the old into the new is seamless. His knowledge of finished carpentry made all the difference. We had rooms and rooms of molding that couldn't be found anymore. Steve did lots of research for us and we came up with solutions that match so close you wouldn't know they were not built at the same time.
We had to stay within the guidelines of the historical society and Steve's knowledge of those guidelines and made our home still look like it was built 80 years ago with upgrades of course.

This isnt my first home, nor the first time I have used many contractors before. But the worst experience before the job even started. I called Steve the second day I had a house leak to patch up drywall and renovate the upstair bathrooms.
Steve showed up the about ten days because he was busy with his schedule and water mitigation was just finished.

SJB did a kitchen and remodeled two bath cabinets for us. Everything was done as expected. We were very satisfied and rehired them to do a total rebuild on our next move. The suggestions as we moved along were spot on and a long project was completed early. The crew was always courteous and good to deal with. We were around to watch the progress and very satisfied with the finished product and all the professionalism and detail behind the finishes.

I want to thank Steve and the SJB crew that did such an outstanding job rebuilding our home. Not only did he take the time to talk with us about what we wanted inside the house, he put his own pro touches outside with the lights and outlets. Little details that make things very convenient for us He took a house that was burned a fire, rebuilt it , and did a good job doing it. Steve and his crew did an implacable job in my house. He was first recommended by a very trusted neighbor. And boy, we were pleased. They've added stucco in the entire front of my house after a fast and clean installation of a new customized window that looks just beautiful. The color that Steve recommended for paint over the stucco looks perfect! He also remodeled our laundry room that looks amazing and so much functional. DO. NOT. HIRE. THIS. MAN. OR. COMPANY. He has basically destroyed my confidence in my home. I am currently in the process of gathering estimates to correct 10s of thousands of dollars of poor workmanship that does not follow accepted trade practices.
Had a window consultant, a licenced glazing and general building contractor out to look at the windows. Result? All windows need pulled out, framing fixed, and reinstalled correctly. SJB also installed

I have contacted Steve Bollerman several times for several things at my own home and the results have always been excellent. I have referred many clients to Steve Bollerman. Today was a perfect Example of why. I called him out to look at what a home inspector called out in my buyers' home inspection. It looked like someone had cut off some trusses on one side of the garage. But after examining it, Steve knew right away that with the hip roof, the missing garage trusses were actually made like this. His construction experience and knowledge are above and beyond.

We have worked with Steve Bollerman in two occasions and both times we've been more than happy with the results. SJB remodeled our backyard patio last year, and our kitchen two months ago. When determining who to use for a fully roofed patio addition and re-roof to my house in Santee, I met with 4 different contractors and got bids from all of them. After all the meetings, I definitely like Steve the best. We we're looking to remodel our kitchen but we had some concerns about timing and cost. After we went to Home Depot and Lowe's to do our research and got a price range for what we needed, our next step was to find a contractor. We had looked for over 2 months trying to find the right company. The answer was right in front of us (our neighbors house). SJB had remodeled their home a few years back and they quickly recommended them after hearing what we were planning.

We hired Steve to implement an add-on (new family room) and expansion of the kitchen. He and his crews were great. He organized all the subs and we never had to worry. Best of all the work - it was completed on time, and within budget. OH - and it all passed the city's inspection. In fact the remodeled kitchen was featured in a nation magazine.

Steve at SJB Construction did a full remodel on our kitchen. After talking with several other companies we decided to go with Steve because HE was going to do the job not contract it out to other people. He came up with a plan to completely update our 25 year old, outdated kitchen into a beautiful new kitchen. He took out major walls, cabinets, countertops and appliances and added a new island to the kitchen with very modern, sleek countertops, new tile, and appliances. Steve made all of the oak kitchen cabinets himself putting in all the "little extras" that make life in the kitchen
