We have rented storage space at First Colony Self Storage on several occasions; we have always been pleased which is why we return.return. We chose First Colony Storage for several reasons: the facility itself, the local management, and the cost. The facility can't be beat; it has a great, convenient location - easily accessible; it is spotlessly clean; and the climate control and environmental control are excellent. I have stored here for 5 years. It is always clean and extremely well kept. The security is excellent. My things are always clean (no hidden rodents). I am never afraid to be there, at night. Nancy and Robert are on the property, most of the time. They are just the best managers ever. And, they know their tenants. After Hurricane Harvey passed through the area, I called Nancy and told her I needed the largest unit she had available. She handled all the documentation, immediately. I have been storing at First Colony Self Storage for over 4 years. I moved to California and have come back to ship my stuff in storage to California. The storage looks as clean and well kept as it did 4 year ago. Robert & Nancy are still the managers there and are still giving amazing customer service. They came out of their apartment after hours (they live on the property) to help me get in as I forgot my code. They told me they had been there for over 12 years. It has come to my attention that the review I posted last night did not reflect my feelings about First Colony Self Storage. The review was incorrectly reflected as a 1 star. This is a 5 star business! Robert and Nancy, who manage it, are the best! They are so nice and so very helpful. Plus, and this is very important, my belongings are safe there. The building is well patrolled and very, very clean. Young men who were helping my daughter move some of her things in there commented on how beautifully kept the building and storage areas are.
