We contacted STL Chimney after trying to find someone with availability for an inspection and possible repair. They were very professional, and apparently for more thorough than the people that inspected out chimney when we purchased our home. They were able to show us and walk us through a comprehensive repair of our wood burning chimney. It was more than we anticipated, but they did an excellent job showing where the problems were and explaining their recommendations.

We consulted STL Chimney for an inspection of a wood burning fireplace that we knew very little about from the prior owners. They performed an extremely thorough inspection and gave us all of the information we needed to make a good decision of next steps (repair, replace, or close off) based on the whole situation.
Both involved were very good at communicating what they saw and why it mattered. Also very professional in their cleanliness, you never would have known that they had been there.

We moved into a new house with 3 beautiful gas fireplaces that clearly hadn't been used in at least 5 years, so I hired St Louis Chimney Co to come take a look, clean them up, and help us assess whether any repairs were necessary before we turned them on. STL Chimney responded quickly to my request for a quote and booked the chimney sweeping as soon as they had an opening. They called before leaving, arrived 5 min early, and finished 10 minutes before they estimated. The house was spic and span afterward, they were incredibly efficient and professional, and they even gave tips on getting the most out of our fireplace.

I highly recommend STL Chimney. They responded promptly to my service request, and the Inspector, Mark, was fantastic. He was on time for the appointment and even called beforehand when he was on his way. I had so many questions for him, and he happily answered every one. He was extremely helpful with his suggestions and offered multiple options. Plus he was very friendly and nice to my dogs, which is always a plus. I received the inspection report the same day. I contracted STL Chimney to install a gas insert in an existing fireplace. They did all of the necessary repairs, including install of a more secure chimney top. During the process, we ran in to several snags - there was a lot of coordination which needed to happen between them, the certified gas (plumbing) guy, and the electrician. A few missteps occurred during this process. However, Chris took full and absolute responsibility for all of it. He was the consummate professional. This was our first time using Stl Chimney. They came out for a cleaning and inspection. They were very friendly and did an amazing job cleaning the chimney. There were some items that needed repair. We then agreed that they would send me 1 quote for repairs and 1 quote to replace the entire unit. A couple weeks go by and I had yet to receive either quote. Chris and his crew just finished installing a new liner and top lock damper. They were in the middle price wise out of three estimates I got, but by far the most exceptional and I made the right choice. Chris even included screen for the fireplace when we told him the fireplace looked better without this old, eighties looking glass/screen that was installed. This was in the middle the project and Chris could have said no and rightfully so since we didn't build that into the original price. The whole crew was very friendly and respectful. Called Stl Chimney and the gentleman that answered was polite, professional and took the time to answer all my dumb questions. They came out last night exactly the time that was scheduled and I had my mother there because I was at work. My mother was impressed with the quality of the work and how detailed they were with covering up everything with tarps to protect our furniture. Price was very competitive and she said the employee was very nice.
