Services
Thank you for viewing our website. Rochester Gutter Company was begun in 1989 and through the generous support of Monroe and surrounding counties has become a stable and trusted source for many exterior products. We offer a wide variety of services including but not limited to residential and commercial guttering, soffit (overhang), rebuilding and repair, vinyl covering of soffits and aluminum trim on fascia, windows and doors.
We install 5- and 6-inch gutters in basically the same way using the same style hangers and methods. However, the larger 6-inch gutter hangers are heavier duty. The hangers that we use will vary somewhat based on the type of application. We are sure you are familiar with the old outdated style of spike and ferral, this may be what you have on your home now.
6-inch gutters and 3"x4" downspouts are considered to be, in this part of the country, commercial size. However being only 1 inch wider and 1 inch taller their appearance is not much different from 5-inch and is increasingly being applied to residential applications. Rochester does not get a rain that this system cannot handle and while a 5-inch system will work most of the time, a 6-inch system will work all of the time.
Over the years we have seen many different types of so called leaf protection. They range from inexpensive screens to unbelievably expensive covers. As these products have been developed their manufacturers have approached us to sell and install their goods. I have not seen too many with which I was impressed.
This is a big part of our business. In this part of the country weather takes its toll on the exterior of our homes, particularly the roof edges. For over 20 years we have been repairing and rebuilding soffits (overhangs) and fascia boards. Whether its just a gutter and some trim torn down by ice or the entire overhang, Rochester Gutter Company can take care of the job, or fix the problem in a neat and lasting manner.

Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value
Rochester Gutter Company (Andy) were professional and easy to work with. I requested a quote and had the work completed within a week on the day they started. The 6" gutters and downspouts look great and were reasonably priced. I would highly recommend them.

I had no issues at all with Andy from Rochester Gutter Company and would definitely recommend him. He was courteous, efficient and genuinely great to work with. Price was great and work was impeccable.
It seems as if the poor reviews were from several years ago. Maybe there was something going on in his life then? Because I had no issues with return calls, texts, professionalism or craftsmanship. I'm glad my neighbor's recommended him because if I had seen these other reviews I might have passed him by. Don't... he does great and affordable work.

Do not...I repeat do not bother calling this company. They gave me an estimate on September 16th. I readily agreed to have them complete the work. It is now November 13th, and after many many many excuses I still do not have my gutters fixed. I am sure there are reputable gutter companies in the area. This is NOT ONE!

Our 1895 Queen Anne Victorian home desperately needed new gutters that would meet the requirements (material, color, etc.) of the jurisdiction where our home is located, as well as meeting the specific needs of our Old home (due to the pitch of our roof, as well as the very large area that needed gutters). Andy came to our home, discussed the available options, and worked with us to meet all of our needs. Andy installed the perfect gutters for our home. We very highly recommend Andy and Rochester Gutter. There is no one better. Andy and Rochester Gutter are a Blessing!

My house is really old (built in the 1850s) and the gutters were leaking everywhere (and water was getting into the basement). Andrew and his son came over and put new gutters in quickly and professionally. They made sure I knew what was going on at each step and were really friendly. I would definitely recommend them

Bottom line: Dealing with Rochester Gutter involves a lot of frustration and broken promises. I would avoid this company.
Andrew Kinnear (the owner) seems like a reasonable guy on those rare occasions when you are actually able to speak with him. However, he doesn't follow-through with his commitments, and he is very difficult to reach. He never answers his phone, and multiple voicemails (over a period of weeks) are ignored, even when you escalate the level of urgency in your messages.
I don't know about the quality of his work, because I was never able to get a quote from him, much

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with this horrible "business". Andy sounds nice on the phone, sends you a contract with a price quote and seems legitimate. But....then he never shows up. Makes some excuse about a big job he's working on, then eventually refuses to return your calls. Meanwhile, my gutters are falling off and water damage is starting to occur around my home. Is this a real business? One star is too many but there's no option for zero stars.

Three calls to get a quote. Decided to go with them after getting 2 other quotes. Set a date, "within the next 2 weeks". Three weeks came and went. Had to call twice to get them to respond, and that only happened when i said I was going with another company. Once they got to the house, the gutter install was quick and done correctly. would rather pay an extra $120 to get it done within the original 2 weeks they quoted.

They did a good job first time around...I thought?.
During the winter one entire side fell off with the ice.
I called and he said it would cost 250. I said fine.
We made an appointment and he never showed. Called several times, never returned my calls.
I wrote a letter to them about it. never replied. I hired someone new.
Very rude to not return my calls or reply to my letter.
I Think they put the gutters up wrong in the first place or they wouldn't have fallen off.

Try calling them to get a quote. The message says he checks his messages regularly. He may check them regularly but doesn't bother to call back. I finally got him on the phone. He has been busy. Contractors are his bread and butter (sorry regular home owners like me, right?). He promised to come out and give me a quote after I called and filled out their request quote form all summer. Never came out. I would rather go with anyone else at this point.

Possibly the worst experience I've ever had with a business. Quoted the job to replace gutters in early March and was told it would be approximately 2 weeks until install. After about 12 weeks and multiple calls, no gutters were ever installed. This person, who probably just works out of a van, only cares about the contractors he does work for. Was promised multiple times that the job would be done and it never was. Don't waste your time.
