J&A Custom Carpentry & Remodeling

We hired James to modify a kitchen cabinet to accommodate a new refrigerator. He needed to reduce the height of the cabinet so we could install a taller fridge. He did an amazing job, detaching the cabinet from the wall, taking the cabinet and doors back to his shop to work on and returning in a couple of hours to reinstall the modified cabinet. The work was beautifully done and the cabinet looked perfect. We were so lucky to find James. He is an excellent craftsman and a fine person. James was also very careful to observe covid precautions. He will definitely be our "go to guy" for future work

It was a pleasure having James as our carpenter! His workmanship is fantastic! He help us repair steps from our exterior spiral staircase which was build custom to the house. He was able to find wood that were the closest match to out stairs and custom cut to fit the stair. He also help us improve our 80's deck railing to code. He was very direct and will tell you right away if there is any issue he found as he is working and will help you resolve any structural issue. I highly recommend his work to anyone who is serious about safety and great woodwork!

We really wanted a dining area in our new apartment, but there wasn’t that much space to work with. James created a custom table and L-shaped bench that fit perfectly in the space and we LOVE it. He even built the benches so that we can lift the seats and store things inside of them. The piece is beautiful, sturdy, and well-designed.

I found J & A Carpentry on Google via a search in the local area; what a terrific find. We had a built in Sub-Zero refrigerator removed and replaced with a non-Sub Zero and needed the cherry cabinets that surrounded the sub-zero reworked.
We were quite nervous as the entire kitchen is Cherry and the Sub-Zero was the focal piece of the kitchen.
James (the owner) did the work himself. Let me get the basics out of the way; he was friendly, customer focused, punctual, and communicated with us throughout the process. Beyond that, he was meticulous, clean/neat, and most importantly, he did outstanding
