The Warmth of Wood (Boehs Cabinet Shop) is a family owned and operated business which has been in operaton at the same location in the heart of historic Chester, NJ since 1963. We work hard to identify high quality products that can be sold for reasonable prices, delivering the highest value to our loyal customers. Some of the products are made here in the store others are made elsewhere by businesses of sizes ranging from big manufacturers down to individuals.
Services
John Boehs found his love of woodworking as early as high school. After many years of working for other custom cabinet shops, John and Peggy Boehs moved to Chester NJ in 1963 to open their own custom cabinet shop. After many years, the town of Chester began its transformation into the tourist destination it is today.

We have been shopping at Boehs for years and everytime we have gotten a beautiful piece of solid wood furniture. The pieces are well made and hold up well. They sell unfinished pieces so you get the joy of finishing it yourself. They offer a selection of stains so you can finish the piece. With Mr Boehs' direction, the staining and top coat went very smoothly. They are friendly and very helpful there. We certainly recommend this shop.
