Services
Hartley Lock and Key a Bristol based locksmith company owned and operated since 1975 by David A Hartley CML can provide a full range of Locksmith services. I service many types of clients and am proud to say that as a small buisness you will always have my full attention for your Locksmith needs. Are you tired of always leaving messages with no return calls or having to reeducate each service person that comes out to make a repair.
Many people ask about rekeying locks. This is a process a professional locksmith can perform that will render inoperative all previous keys that were issued or have fallen into the wrong hands. In many cases the cost for rekeying locks can be less then throwing the old locks away and buying new locks.
Do not be fooled by big yellow page or online ads that advertise multiple Bristol or Statewide locations. Call their number and ask where their physical location is. Would you be comfortable with a company with no address having your keys? Another practice that has caught on is an out of state phone bank where the person answers the phone with LOCKSMITH and no company name.

My wife called after keys had been stolen. She called the police first who informed her to immediately call a locksmith to change the locks for safety. This guy had no patience for her and ended up hangin up on her.
She called a couple other locksmiths all whom offered to come out and change the locks, none rude like this guy.
If you are scared to come out to change locks maybe change careers.

Rude and unprofessional. Don’t waste your time. He hung up in my face because I asked him to hold while I called my children over to me.
Please don’t waste your time at this business.
These days people need to be understanding that most parents have their children with them throughout the pandemic and should be able to deal with a little background noise.

If there was a way to give negative stars I’d give it.
I was with my daughter when she spoke to the locksmith at Harley Locks on speaker phone. My daughter called in a desperate moment after keys to her property had been stolen and she was needing new locks installed. While at the property, she put him on hold to call to her young children for no more than a few seconds and he rudely to her hung up on her.
Not somewhere I’d ever bring my business and I intend to let everyone know.

I called Hartley Lock and Key to come out and re key a home my wife and I had recently purchased. Mr. Hartley called me back within an hour, and scheduled the job for the same day. He arrived when he said he would, and before he was even all the way out of the service truck, he knew what kind of locks the home had, he had been to the home and done work for the previous owner years ago. I did not realize it when I called for the appointment, but it's the owner himself that shows up to do the work.
