There are two types of inground pools available: Gunite and Vinyl-lined. In order to make an informed decision on which type you choose, it will help you to understand as much as you can about these two different types. Keep in mind that even amongst the two types, there are variations between each pool; in other words, no two are exactly alike.

I have used Pamlico Pool company since 1997 . They have always been there to help me, advise me , and take care of all my needs . All of the people that work there have always been professional , courteous , and totally helpful. I would recommend them to anyone that wants a pool or needs some help with their existing pool.

We had issues with Pamlico after requesting in March that they replace sand in a pool filter. Pamlico has been so incredibly non-responsive we will never use them again. We asked for service at our pool the end of March had a promised date of 1-2 weeks. After two weeks we began calling, repeatedly. Five weeks after our request with so many calls we lost track and Pamlico's repeated broken promises of "he will be there tomorrow" , Pamlico finally came out. We made the horrible mistake of paying them immediately without verifying the pump was operational after the sand was

I went to Pamlico because I did some research and thought they were the professionals for the job. Unfortunately, I can no longer say this. Here are my issues fron minor to major...
1. When the put the pool in, they have an overflow pipe off one side, they never bothered to tell me this until after my new sod went in. They said "well, you're gonna have to have a plummer run it off the yard" why not tell the customer before more yard work is done??
2. They also install a auto water fill for the pool. Once again, they didn't tell me until several weeks after they were done. Again... You're gonna

Pamlico Pool Company had completed the original pool install approximately 10 years ago; we were not the original homeowners. We purchased the home (with pool) years later.
The liner had reached its expectancy in 2015. The former homeowners notified us that Pamlico originally installed the pool. So we contracted them for the replacement liner.
From the beginning there were just slight hints that this company might not be a good choice, but the reviews online lead us to believe that they were reputable.
---The office staff seemed disorganized when discussing options for pool liners.

I used Pamlico due to high reviews. However, our experience has been very disappointing. From the beginning, our liner did not fit, and continually came apart at the first step. After calling and calling with NO response in the way of a service call, an associate of theirs sent some liner lock material. It helped for a while, but the liner continues to come loose and allows water to get behind the liner. On closer inspection of the liner track, cement from the construction was caked in the liner track not allowing the liner to properly fit. Now that the pool is out of warranty, the problem is ours
