Brien and Melody did a great job with getting our quote and work scheduled. We had pavers and travertine sealed as well as the polymeric sand laid. Our front pavers were a little extra thirsty and required a quick retreat. They came back right away and stood behind their work. You don’t find that often in companies today and because of that I will be a repeat customer.

Surface Smart sent me a refund check that couldn't be cashed or deposited.
The bank couldn't trace or confirm the legitimacy of the check. Please don't use this company!

Finally, the check was able to process but had to be cashed then deposited.
To the defense of the company, it appears that the bank has closed multiple financial centers in N.C. so it is possible that there was a glitch in the system.
Regardless, my driveway still looks like Sh*t!
You decide if you want to take a chance with Surface "not so" Smart.

I hired surface smart pavers to come out and clean my pool deck, apply sand, and seal the deck. The pool deck looked horrible after the cleaning process was finished, I contacted Melody and she assured me the guys were going to come back out and re-treat the stained areas. The next morning the service guys came out and immediately started to lay down the sand. I contacted Melody and told her this and she said she’d contact the guys to clarify. Probably the worst service I've ever paid for. After a month my driveway started growing weeds as if i was tending to a forest. They claim that the sand they use will help to reduce weed growth but it's all BS. Within a week I noticed growth, called them back and they did the work a second time only to get growth again shortly thereafter. They ruined my garage paint and my bicycle which I've since had to get professionally cleaned from the cheap sand they used. Worst of all, when I attempted to get them to address it they refused and stopped responding. Trust me when I say these

The pavers on my lanai had been sealed previously by another company that did a terrible job, so I was looking for a company that could undo what they did and seal my pavers properly. Smart pavers did our job 3-4 months ago - poorly done driveway as white spots started to appear on the pavers about a month ago. Called and tried to communicate with josh who eventually came out - took another 1 week for someone to come and diagnose a problem - and Was told they will reseal it. 2 weeks later - the same mentioned problem has reappeared- called one week ago to have someone look and fix the problem- still not done!

The owner Josh and Tim are liars. We spent about double to get our pavers sealed to have grass and weeds growing between the joints and signs of efflorescence on the pavers. As you can see, they promised to resolve the issue by coming back and testing the pavers and discussing a better price. We spent close to $6800 to have the pavers sealed and this is what we have. It's sad. They lied in writting and verbally. As a consumer, RUN. They will not divulge the name of the product that they use because its watered down but they put in writting-HIGH DEF SEMI GLOSS. Tim Maulden came to my home to give me an estimate for sealing my driveway, since the driveway sealing was originally sealed with an oil based sealer he recommended stripping the existing sealer 1300.00 vs 582.00 for just applying a sealer without stripping. On 6/26/2019 Surface Smart wash my pavers, applied sand between the pavers then applied a sealant. I was told that the sealant would need 24 - 48 hours to set. A week later the sealant still had not set. I called to let these folks know that it still had not set. They came out and told me that maybe it was the heat. They proceeded to move the patio items back, the workers agreed that for some reason the sealant had not set! A week later (2 weeks) I told them that the surface was still sticky. Warranty is completely fabricated. They sealed my pavers with polymeric sand and it looked beautiful for 9-12 months and then the typical FL mold started to appear. ( even though they guaranteed their product for 5 years) I called them multiple times and left voice messages for them to come reseal to no avail. I was a fool to believe that they had a superior product... standard at best. You will have to reseal in a year if you use this company

Hired Surface Smart to clean, sand & seal my pavers. The sealer application was very poor and there are significant and multiple areas where the sealer is extremely thin leaving streaks and missed spots. I called & left numerous messages with Tim, the sales rep, before Josh, the owner, finally got around to returning my calls. I scheduled an appointment with Josh directly for Surface Smart to came back out and re-apply the sealer to eliminate the streaks / missed spots only to be stood up, again. BUYER BEWARE!!! We had surfact smart come out in April of this year to do seal or paver pool deck. We saw their ad on Facebook and they gave a good presentation and price. We were happy with the appearance for about 2 months, then the strip of pavers near the edge of the pool started to turn white and became dull and old looking; as if it was never treated. In early July i contacted Tim Maulder to advise him of our concerns. I have made many, many attempts by email, phone and text messages in an attempt to get him to return to evaluate and fix. Joshua and Tim treated the counters and sinks in my new house. It looks amazing, but the best thing is now we know it will continue to look amazing. The stone counter is mostly white. Without the Surface Smart treatment, I would have been nervous everytime my teenagers entered the kitchen to get food or a drink. I now have strong, beautiful counters and peace of mind. We are going to have Joshua and Tim treat our pavers next.

We met Joshua and Tim at the fall home show in Orlando. After being diligent about cleaning our granite on a routine basis, it still was becoming dull. So we took the plunge and had them come out to do the kitchen. We have several sections of countertop in a pretty good sized kitchen. Some sections see very little use but by the sink where it gets excessive use, the granite was totally without any sheen. Granite cleaners and sealants recommended by the installers had failed us in retaining the original polished appearance.
