London Sweeps, Chimney Sweeps is a Family run business since 1978. My Father started sweeping in 1977 and formed the company a year later. We are one of the first of just a few chimney sweep companies in Richmond that started in the late 70's. We have over 40 years experience in cleaning and proper maintenance to keep your Chimneys safe.
We pride ourselves on honest, professional chimney services and also offer Qualified Home Inspections for the potential home buyer. For many years now I have noticed a trend happening in the Chimney Industry that disturbs me. There are too many companies that are pushing for expensive chimney re-lining.
Over 90% of the chimneys I re-inspect after these "alarmist" companies, do not require the chimney to be re-lined." We do chimney cleaning the right way! If you have a woodstove, we remove the woodstove so we can clean the areas that other Chimney Sweeps miss! We lay down drop cloths to protect the area around the fireplace and use a high powered vacuum to contain the dust and soot to the fireplace.

Services
London Sweeps, Chimney Sweeps, LLC is a family run business. We have been serving Richmond and the surrounding areas for over 40 years now. We have built a reputation in the community for providing honest chimney evaluations and prompt, professional chimney cleanings and repairs. We first started our business in 1978; there were only 3 chimney sweep businesses in the Richmond area.
Sweeping your chimney with chimney sweeping brushes and rods or having your chimney swept by a chimney sweep is part of the correct operation of your stove or fireplace and is one of the most important tasks that there are associated with having a woodstove. Tar, soot and deposit build up in a chimney can restrict the area in the chimney, reducing draw, making the chimney draft poorly and in the end can make the fireplace smoke.
Some information you may not know about "Certified" Chimney Sweeps and Chimney companies claiming they are Certified "Fire" Inspectors. There seems to be some confusion in the public's eye regarding "Certification". There are many companies who "Boast" their credentials by saying, "I am a "Certified Chimney Sweep." or even better, they will say, "I am a "Certified Fire Inspector."

I absolutely would not use any other chimney company. They were HONEST, professional and he knew his business inside and out.
I was happy to pay what he asked and thought that he should have charged more...
I was amazed at how clean these guys were, i'm a bit OCD.
Thank you Mr. Eric job well done....

I've used London Sweeps several times over the last year. Each time I've been impressed with their thoroughness and the quality of their work. When giving recommendations of potential issues, I was given all the options but not pressured towards any one thing. They were fair in their price, and held to their quotes to the dollar.

The owner, Eric Blackwell, is the most rude (and lazy) worker I have ever, ever encountered. After waiting 3 weeks for an initial visit, we waited another 3+ weeks for him to come back out and do the work. Then, the morning of the job, he called to say that he wouldn't be doing the job today (early Dec) because it was 'too cold' and he didn't want him or his people working outside for '6 hours in 45 degree weather.' Um, what? That's your job. He proceeded to tell me that he could 'maybe' reschedule me Dec 23rd. Wouldn't it be colder then? He then told me he was frustrated and didn't have time to
