Pop-A-Lock
Pop-A-Lock of New Orleans opened in 1993 as a "Car Door Unlocking Company" and introduced Pop-A-Locks' signature Emergency Car Door Unlocking (EDU) service as a free public service to the New Orleans Metro Area. By 1998 the company had 8 full time employees and its' EDU service had become a critical component of the areas 911 emergency response system, averaging over 30 EDU's per month.

The company's services expanded to Roadside Assistance services including tire changes, jump-starts and fuel deliveries. In response to requests from customers the company began offering Automotive Locksmith, Residential Locksmith, and Commercial Locksmith services in 2000 to the greater New Orleans Metro area.

By 2004, the company employed 12 - Car Door Unlocking Technicians and 3 - full-time locksmiths. Late 2004 the company was acquired from the founders by Tulane University graduate and Board Certified Safety Professional, Paul H. Sewall. The mandatory evacuation of the city forced the company to cease operations until early October of 2005 when Jefferson Parish allowed companies offering "critical services" to re-open.
Services
Jennifer B. of New Orleans had set her purse down on the passenger seat to move the baby from car seat to stroller. Her partner, intending to be helpful, closed the locked door without realizing that her keys were inside. Not to worry; she called Pop-A-Lock of New Orleans and got a quote and a time estimate that gave her just enough time to run the errand she'd set out to do.
Duplicating car keys just isn't as straightforward as it used to be. With transponder keys, keyless entry remotes, laser cut keys, and other high security keys, your car is safer from thieves than ever. However, if you lose your key, you can expect to pay a hefty replacement fee at the dealership. If you're locked out, they'll have to tow the car, and then you'll end up paying for the tow on top of all the other charges.
Remote keys, which became widespread in the late 80s and early 90s, allow you to lock or unlock your car doors remotely through a radio chip located in the key fob. You might not have thought twice about your key fob until you lost or broke it and called your dealer to see how much a replacement would cost.
When Chris L. of New Orleans misplaced his regular car key, he pulled out a spare that he had cut at the hardware store but never tried using. To his surprise, his Honda Accord refused to start when he put the spare in the ignition. As it turns out, his original key was a transponder key with a special chip inside the head that sent a signal to the ignition.
We can't magically find your lost keys for you, but if you're locked out of the house in New Orleans, we can come out to you in as little as fifteen minutes, open your door, and make you a new set of keys. Getting locked out used to mean one of two things: waiting around for your spouse, friend, or neighbor with a spare to find the time to drop by - or, alternately, waiting for a locksmith to show up within a one or two hour arrival window.

I waited over an hour after submitting a claim with AAA and they couldn't even give me an ETA on sending someone to help me with my flat tire. It was getting dark and I didn't feel safe.

I called Geico roadside, they sent out a great rep from Pop-A-Loc immediately. The technician who helped me was wonderful!!!!! I couldn't be happier!!! Great job guys and thank you!!!!

Well- I locked the key in the car. Called Pop-a-Lock, and had a hassle free, wonderful experience. First, the woman that answered the phone was just so pleasant. She got my address, gave me a quote, and a time frame all in under 2 minutes. The guy was here in less than 30 mins, and the process from unlocking the car to payment was less than 10 minutes. Felt so quick! He was so nice, very courteous, and professional. Worth every penny!

I locked my keys while on vacation and I had to leave soon to avoid traffic. After I called another service twice they said both times that driver would call me, but they failed to even call me back. After almost 40 minutes waiting I called Pop A Lock and told the operator about the other company, she promised they could be there sooner. Pop a Locks driver called me within 5 minutes to say he was on his way and less than 20 minutes away. I then called the 1st company who still had not assigned a driver,to tell them to forget it. Pop a lock arrived promptly and opened my car. Should have called

My daughter's Jeep Wrangler got a flat tire. I called Road Side Assistance and they sent this useless company. 40-70 minute wait and a no show. I called RSA back and they told me that this company cancelled because the Jeep was to large of a vehicle. It's just a regular factory spec Wrangler.
Call anybody else!!

What a convenient service!!! It's crazy how you NEED this service yet they still make it affordable and quick! Such a blessing! I didn't know pop a lock could open houses but I locked myself out of the house this morning with only my phone thank goodness so I called them. They quoted me a price of 69.95 which was far less than I imagined it would be and then they quoted me a time estimate of 25-35 minutes!! You're able to track your technician on the map which is pretty neat. My technician arrived and asked for my ID with the address on it. I'm not sure exactly what would&apos

Years ago I was on targets parking lot with my baby in the backseat and i got out of the car to move a basket. Then I hear the car door shut behind me. I rushed back over and all the door were locked. I started to panic! I went to the side where my baby was to comfort him, he was fine, the air was on and he had his snacks, but he saw that I was upset. The lady parked next to me and saw what was going on and instantly called pop-a-lock and a tech came within minutes. He popped the lock free of charge and I couldn't have been anymore grateful for those two people! Thank you pop-a-lock!

Pop-A-Lock saves the day! You know those jerks who leave their dogs in the car on a hot summer day? Well today I accidentally became one of them. I was getting gas on my way home and as soon as I put the lid back on my gas tank I realized I was locked out and they keys were inside my truck with my puppy and wilting groceries in the back seat. I called triple A and waited and waited with no luck. The gas station attendant suggested I call pop-a-lock. Paul showed up about 20 mins after I called and within seconds he had the door unlocked and everything was fine. Can't thank pop-a-lock enough

We are so grateful for their service!! I would absolutely recommend their business. It was fast, easy, and thorough. The technician, Carol (I'm sorry if I spelled/misheard your name incorrectly!) was skilled, courteous, informative, and funny. Comparatively to other locksmith companies in the area, I was told that Pop-A-Lock is very reasonably priced (about $45 to open up a locked car, as opposed to $130 with other companies), so that's a plus too! (Although, I have not verified this info myself.)

Locked myself out of my car, and had a bought a programmable key I was eventually going to get around to programming in my car if that had ever happened. PJ came out and unlocked my car, programmed my new keys for me, and was done literally in minutes! Fastest, friendliest, and super affordable! I couldn't have asked for a better situation. Thanks PJ!

Terrible customer service. The technician was rude and condescending. My keys were stolen so I need my vehicle to remain unlocked until my fob programmer could arrive. The technician unlocked the vehicle but could not give me basic instructions on keeping it temporarily unlocked nor would he inform me how to avoid setting off the alarm while I waited. My car locked automatically while I was waiting for my programmer to arrive, so basically this was a huge waste of time & money.

I spoke with a representative to send a technician out at 8pm. She said it was an estimated 25-35 minutes, which is resonable. I called again after the 35 minute mark and our technician has yet to contact me. At this point, the wait was about an hour and I finally get a call from the technician at 9pm - his ETA was another 25 minutes.

All in all, it took 3 minutes to open my door, but the wait was almost an hour and a half. So you can decide if you want to wait that long or not. The cost was $60 for my apt door so that is the only reason I rated it above 2.

I did not call pop-a-lock directly but they must have a service contract with my Subaru roadside assistance. Sadly last week one of my tires lost it's life to a pothole on St. Charles Ave. St. Charles is supposed to be a fancy street free of sidewall busting divots, but no.

I called my roadside assistance and they said someone would be out in 40 minutes. About 20 minutes later, a car pulled up behind mine. After laughing (good humoredly) at my offer of the pathetic jack that comes with my car, he pulled out a hydraulic jack and my car up and my tire swapped in less than 10 minutes. Because
