My first experience ever hiring a handyman/contractor and it was a horrible experience hiring these guys. We hired them to do a bathroom remodel and they just didn't have the know how or work ethic to do a good job. They tried to put our shower/tub surround in without a vapor barrier! Also they couldn't be bothered to show up for work. A full bathroom remodel shouldn't take more than a week but they barely ever showed up! I had to pester them to ever get them to show up. After a month of no-shows and shoddy work I just stopped pestering them and they never came back. Just to be clear I didn't fire

I emailed A-1 and was amazed and thrilled that I received a call back in minutes! I have had a project I've wanted done forever and so many companies never return calls. Ron came out right away, and we showed him the job we wanted done. He said it would be a few weeks, which was fine, we're in no hurry. I emailed him some information he wanted and waited for a quote. It's been 2 weeks now. I've tried contacting him numerous times, with no response. I've even told him, if he wasn't interested in the job, that was fine, I understood, just please let me know. Still

One week ago we had some work done at our house in Birch Bay. Ron and Scott and Greg were fast and efficient and fixed our multitude of problems so fast that I wish we had more work for them to do. These guys do outstanding work!! They are professional, friendly and clean up afterwords. I will use them again and I highly recommend them for any repair problem you may have.

I was building the stairs for my front porch and got completely stuck on building the risers. I said; I needed a handyman and found A-1 Handyman Plus LLC online. I needed someone in a pinch and when I called it was Saturday and told Jim what I needed help with. Jim gave me a general Quote and I asked him how soon could he help me. He surprised me when he said he would be over in about 15 minutes! Now that's service! When Jim arrived he got right to business and I felt well assured Jim knew what he was doing. After contacting a few other contractors to build a wheelchair ramp out front our home, Ron was the only guy who said he was able to do it within the next couple weeks. All the others were 3mths out! Anyway, Ron came out, assessed the situation and listened to what we wanted. He quoted $800 for lumber, labor and an extra $100 to sand our existing porch and re-stain and seal it while trying to match the new construction. Seemed a bit high but we needed it done and quick. my husband is totally wheelchair bound and hasn't been able to get out of the house in weeks due to our previous metal

Ron worked on the rent place I'm staying at, and did an outstanding job I would call him a jack of all traits! He know his stuff! If you have an odd job call Ron, if you need repairs he has been doing handyman work for many years and it shows! Anywhere you need from foundation to roofs, from broken water heaters, vents, floor repair and many different things for repairs and new construction! I know because I've seen him do it!

Going off of my first and only experience with A1 Handyman, I would never suggest them as a first option to any of my family or friends.
This winter I called about a frozen pump house. They came out, checked out the situation. Told me they had to leave to go get the proper tools to work on it and said it'd be $300, and that I needed to get a heat source out there to keep it warm. I said "ok, and you can do that?" And Ron's response was "yeah, we can do that". Then they left to get their supplies and came back. They thawed the pump house, and wanted payment.

Don't even waste your time calling this guy. I set up a time and day with him and he never even bothered to show up or call. I called to see if he was coming and he said something about leaving my info at home? Said he could be there in a couple minutes and still didn't come.
