We are a locally owned and operated company in Yorktown, VA that has been serving the Hampton Roads area for more than 17 years. Our staff was factory trained on appliances, so their extensive knowledge ensures the jobs get done right.
The appliance sales business is like a used car dealership. They sell whatever they can sell to make the most money. Manufactures pay stores to push their products and pay the sales men and women bonuses for selling them. That is why I have put together a list of appliance to buy and not to buy. Based on 17 years of experience in the sales and repair business.
Over time, your dryer vent fills with lint that sneaks by your dryer's filter. Fires can occur when lint builds up in the dryer or in the exhaust duct. Lint can block the flow of air, cause excessive heat build-up, and result in a fire in some dryers. Isolated incident? Not at all. The Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that over 15,000 dryer related fires occur each year causing an estimated 97 million dollars in property loss.
Before calling always unplug the machine, wait 10 minutes and then try to use it again. A lot of newer machines have control boards that can be easily scrambled and corrupted just like your home computer and just needs to be reset. Front load or Top load: Front load washers use less water than standard top load washers and are gentler on your cloths.

I am really disappointed with this business! Today is strike #2 and I will NOT use them again!!!
The last repair they did was on my Maytag Dryer in 2019... The repair was adequate but, Brandon had a bad attitude and was rude and nasty!! I complained to Management! They were apologetic but, I told them at that time, that Brandon could never come back to my house again! Against my better judgment, Friday I called them to repair my Maytag Washer... Erin told me George, the owner, was doing my repair but, I would be his last stop on Wednesday. It is now 9:30 pm Wednesday night and he never showed

I've used them several times, with great satisfaction. They fixed a washer, dryer, and refrigerator for me. However, I recently tried contacting them 3 times (2 phone calls, 1 email on their website) concerning my over-the-range microwave oven. I wanted to know if they could repair it, or tell me how much they'd charge to install a new one. I never received any response, after three attempts. If they don't handle microwaves, they could at least have called me back to tell me that. George was everything you want in a repair person. He arrived when he said he would. He quickly, efficiently diagnosed my dishwasher problem and repaired it. He showed me the part that was the problem. We engaged in pleasant conversation while he worked and he explained the pricing by breaking down the cost of the part and the service call. The pricing was reasonable and the dishwasher works great. PERFECT!

GH has helped me for over 7 years. Fixed my Captal cooktop, my LG washer and my Miele dishwasher. The Miele was tricky because of intermittent problems. They came out and went through the diagnosis problems and ended up fixing it. It took 4 visits, 2 of them no charge, (expect for parts) ,and now I'm doing dishes. Can't say enough about how professional and experienced Brandon and George were.

Service not listed” because the service was removal of old appliances and installation of new ones. I have used GH in the past for repairs. This time, I was visited twice by Craig and both times received great service. He was not only prompt, professional, and friendly, but went above and beyond to solve my problems. Cory took care of our oven repair.
It works beautifully. Cory is punctual, respectful, and a good communicator with me as client. The office not so much as I had to call them for updates after a week of not hearing from them after the initial appointment and then not even getting 24 hours notice that the tech would come out (hence 1 star less as communication is really important on my end). But the tech himself, as stated above: very uncomplicated and good work. Warranty on work is 90 days, warranty on parts is 1 year. Will update again.

My 7 year old refrigerator stopped working. I called 12 places. This place was the only one that responded. I called Thursday night. On sat craig cane to my house in 15 my refrigerator was diagnosed and repaired. He had the part on the truck. He was extremely nice. Would highly recommend and will use them again. Thank you

Trust these people. I have called them twice, for a refrigerator and a dishwasher. After another company tried to cheat me on the refrigerator, the G H technician spent 5 min. to tell me I needed a new one. I only paid the service charge. For the dishwasher, I spoke to him on the phone, he diagnosed the problem, told me what to do and didn't come to the house. I appreciate people who deal honestly with me. I will always call G H first for my appliances.

Excellent service! We called regarding our ice maker in our refrigerator and was scheduled for the next available date. We were given a time frame to expect our technician and Brandon called to tell us he was on his way. He arrived and looked at the ice maker. He knew what the problem was and fully explained what was causing the problem and what was needed to repair it. He had the part on his truck and took care of it within an hour. Brandon was friendly, professional and knew his job well. I would highly recommend G H Appliance Repair and will definitely call them in the future!

Looking for an honest and experienced appliance repairman? End your search at GH Appliance Repair. Have been loyal customer for many years. Quick and fair priced. Example: I sent a request for dryer vent cleaning this past Monday. I hadn't heard back which was odd so I called today,Thursday. He apologized thinking he had replied. He said he would squeeze me in tomorrow and would call later to give me a time. Lo and behold he calls 30" later, "how about right now, I'm in area I can be there shortly." In and out in 20", my dryer looks and sounds brand new! I highly recommend

Very nice on the phone. Was able to get an early appointment. I thought for repair but it was diagnostic only -$70. When the tech got here he had no Ideal of what to do. He was just turning knobs a pressing buttons. Only bc I utilize YouTube I already found out how to check the diagnostic codes. So after I explained this to him... he looked at nothing else. He came down stairs and explained what the code meant. Remember I told him what error codes were displayed. I could have googled the explanation. I was expecting repair today!!! George also quoted approximate labor $50 to $75. Extreme lie bc

(Beware their phone number is not accurate on Bing-- the correct number is 535-5649) I was very impressed how fast they were able to get to us (same day) and fix our dishwasher. They were very nice on the phone and in person. Although he (George) knew our warranty company would likely be reimbursing us, he was very honest and only charged us the service fee. Honesty is very important to me when selecting a company so this company gets 5 starts from me plus our dishwasher is fixed!
