Shamrock Septic Inc. is a family owned and operated business that has serviced their customers for more than 20 years. The owners Pat and Charlotte Murray live and work right here in the same community as our customers. No big outside companies telling them what to do.
They have raised their family in the Matanuska Susitna Valley and are familiar with some of the struggles that residents of Alaska have that many lower 48 residents do not when it comes to septic systems. They are aware of some of the unique and creative ways people in Alaska do things to maintain their way of life.
They use that same creativeness in their approach to many problems they come across in the day to day operations of a septic pumper. They are aware of the conditions that make it challenging to properly maintain both the residential and commercial systems in Alaska and are up to the challenge for many years to come.

Your septic tank is a key component of your water treatment and recycling system. It serves as a settling basin where solids accumulate and gradually get broken down by bacterial action. Some of the organic waste (the organic fraction) is actually liquefied by this "natural bacterial decomposition, " however the rest of the waste accumulates in the bottom as a layer of sludge.
I thought the bacteria took care of the solids and turned them into a liquid so I would never have to worry about build up in my tank?. A friend of mine told me to put hamburger, fish, chicken, or yeast, down into my system so that I would never have any problems. They said these things would add extra bacteria to my system.

6 months after they pumped my septic tank there was a clog and sewage was leaking all over my tenant's back deck and garden. I had two professionals assess the situation, who both said it looks like it's been well over a year since it was last pumped. After venting to a coworker, he asked if I used Shamrock Septic. Apparently they're known for not pumping the full tank and leaving behind solids. I called them to discuss it, but the office manager was rude and unprofessional. It cost me $1000 to remedy the situation. I will never use them again or recommend them to others.

Fantastic service and excellent people. I called and scheduled service with Shamrock and they arrived in a timely manner and Paul Denison did a bang up job. He was super professional and knowledgeable, identifying some mistakes we made as first time septic users. Fortunately, the system is in great shape and we were left with instructions on how to make sure it stays that way. Thanks!!

Septic Pumpers are big business in Alaska where most people have septic tanks. Some of the fun names in the business are JR's Pooper Pumper, Turdinator, and Royal Flush (with the playing cards on the side).
We picked Shamrock because they put up super huge, cool holiday displays outside their business on Halloween & Christmas that the kids and I never miss!!!
