Services
We provide 1/2 (64 cubic feet a pile 4 foot high, 4 foot deep and 4 foot wide) and full cords (128 cubic feet a pile 4 foot high, 8 foot long and 4 foot deep) of firewood, delivered to your home. As fall turns to winter our firewood supply does dwindle down. So order your wood as early as September to make sure you have all the firewood you need to make it through the winter.
Put composted organic mulch under your tree in the fall or early winter to help retain water and reduce temperature extremes in the soil. A thin layer of mulch will act like a blanket and give the tree's roots a little extra protection. Give your trees a drink. Winter droughts require watering as much as summer droughts.
The robins have arrived and Spring is only days away. The winter wasn't to bad this year in Short Hills, but it is that time again to have your tree's cared for. Here are 7 Reasons to care for your trees now. Get your trees pruned before the birds build their nests. As nature lovers, we hate to disturb any wildlife.

I am a repeat customer, and that's for a reason. We utilized Brennan Tree Service to cut back a few tree limbs away from the roof & chimmney of our house. He and his crew were professional, knowledgeable, and responsive. He provided a free estimate and honored it upon completion of the job, and even offered to take down an additional tree that he noticed was lifeless, and could potentially be a safety hazard for no additional cost. Look no further, this is your Tree Guy! Eugene will get the job done safely, efficiently, and cost effectively. His company is highly recommended.

I was looking for a local wood delivery service. I needed a 1/2 cord of wood that was under 20 inches to fit in a wood burning stove. Found them on Yelp and Google and decided to give them a try. First call to customer service was handled well - woman on the phone was pleasant and tried to answer my specific questions as best as possible. I was then called back by someone more knowledgeable within 30 minutes, and was given a fair price and a drop off date two days later.
The drop off truck arrived at the time expected, and I was very impressed with the two employees who unloaded the wood

Eugene Brennan and his team came out last week to take down a large dead Oak in the backyard. It was a situation where access was very tight but Eugene never blinked. He arrived very early with his crew and got down to business taking down this massive tree with extreme professionalism and unbelievable hard work. I never realized tree removal is such an exercise in skill and precision but trust me after seeing these men at work, it is. I was very impressed with their services and would definitely hire them again for any tree related issue. They were awesome! I found Eugene to be friendly but professional

The person Eugene. very impolite and very unprofessional. I asked him the question how you are planning to get the tree out of the back yard. he asked me how old i am??? with a very patronizing way.. This person said he is 50 something and given his life to trees but the way he is talking to the client is not acceptable. Brennan can be doing very good work the way this person speaks is not acceptable, This is a very frustrating experience with this company

Had 2 large trees hit by lightning and they were able to come out the next day to take a look. Ultimately the trees had to come down and they were able to be there quickly and take everything down quickly and safely leaving my yard in perfect condition (minus two trees). Highly recommend them.

WARNING: purchased half cord from Brennan's in mid September 2019. Firewoods is WET. Hissing and fizzles out, even with plenty of kindling and starters.
Will call and let them know and see if they make it it right if so, I will update this review, but wanted to get it up before too many people buy from them for the season!

I was very satisfied with the work that was done and how it was smooth from estimate to completion. Eugene is willing to work with the customer on getting the job done at a competitive rate. You can get quotes from other companies and you will find that Eugene is straight forward in a business where the cost varies widely.

Poor customer service. Called the number on the site about two weeks ago and left a detailed message with the lady receptionist. She said Eugene would call me back. The tree in my front yard needs some tending to so was hoping to get someone here sooner rather than later.
Sent the owner, Eugene, an email...no reply. Sent him a message through facebook messenger and he replied saying he was away but would get back to me in two days. It has been another week and still nothing. I'm fine if they are busy and do not want your business but they should at least get back to potential customers

A 100 foot old oak tree fell on my 88 year old Mom's house during a recent storm. The tree was on her roof blocking her front door and resting on power lines so was scary. Eugene was there the same day with his crew and 3 cranes (1 was a 60 foot crane). It took 6 hours and was truly amazing but he got the tree down without snapping any power lines. I highly recommend them and will be calling them with any tree issue we have. Very professional and there when you need them.

I was completely satisfied with the removal of two dead ash trees that were right next to my home. They were removed with no damage to my property. Gene Brennan, a certified tree expert went the extra mile to ensure the safety of his men and my home while work was in progress. I highly recommend Brennans tree service to anyone with a tree emergency.

Eugene Brennan, a NJ Certified Tree Expert, has been doing tree work in the Essex County area for well over 30 years. His work during the after math of Hurricane Irene and Hurricane Sandy was outstanding. Brennan's has worked at my parents house for years with no complaints. If you want someone who knows there trees and how to care for them, call Brennan's Tree Services.

Last week, I called Brennan's to see if they had any seasoned firewood because my regular supplier had run out. The woman I spoke with was very friendly. She assured me they had plenty of wood and could deliver a cord ($250) shortly after noon on Saturday. She also said she hoped Brennan's would become my regular supplier.
My wife and daughter and I stayed home all afternoon on Saturday waiting for the firewood to arrive so we could stack it before nightfall--but Brennan's never delivered it.
Not only did Brennan's not deliver the firewood, they never bothered to let us know
