J W Kennedy
J.W. Kennedy Fire Protection, LLC is a four generation, family owned business. Since 1913, J. W. Kennedy & Son has been serving the Trenton, N.J. area, with its beginnings as a machine shop started by Joseph W. Kennedy on Conovers Alley. The son of Irish immigrants, he worked with anything metal, even the new invention of the era, automobiles.

At the beginning of the 1940s Joseph moved his shop to Perry Street. After World War II, Joseph and his son (Jack Sr.) decided to go into business together in welding supplies, compressed gases and fire safety equipment. Jack Sr., who grew up around his father's shop and worked for General Motors during the war, knew the industry well.In the late 1950s the current building was built. In the mid-80s, Jack Jr's oldest son, Michael, joined the company.

The business has grown from a small machine shop to a company that supplies complete fire protection services (ranging from fire protection engineering, fire extinguisher sales & service, kitchen suppression systems, fire sprinkler, backflow prevention systems, inspections, testing & maintenance, installation, code violation correction & repairs) and equipment.
Services
J.W. Kennedy has a state of the art fire extinguisher service center and DOT certified retesting center for all of your hydro-static testing needs. We also can recharge CO2 cylinders on our premises. The International Fire Codes, Building Codes, and NFPA require every business or place of assembly to have fully functional fire extinguishers on the premises.
J.W. Kennedy can provide engineering, design, hydraulic calculations, for all of your water based fire protection needs. Due to many insurance regulations, international building codes, Fire codes and insurance company regulations, your facility may need to be protected or is protected by one or more types of a water based fire protection system.
J.W. Kennedy provides engineering, installation, repair, inspection and testing of your fire alarm systems. Fire alarm systems are the fastest way to alert occupants and first responders such as fire departments in the earliest stages of fire. Fire alarms are responsible for saving lives and property and preventing billions of dollars in property damage each and every year.
Each year alone kitchen fires injure thousands of people and cause millions of dollars in damage. Our goal is to provide life safety and property protection. Today, commercial kitchens use higher temperature cooking oils and high efficiency equipment such as deep fat fryers and char-broilers, that make fire suppression more challenging.
Municipalities generally require backflow prevention devices installed (by code) for all cross-connection points found in the plumbing systems of rental apartments, condos, restaurants & other food establishments, as well as public and commercial properties. The degree of hazard determines the type of backflow prevention system required, and these systems are required to be tested regularly.

Let me start of by saying that if I could give JW Kennedy more than 5 stars, I would without any hesitation whatsoever.
I had to get a leaking fire sprinkler head replaced in my home. I was pleasantly surprised when they answered my call late on a Friday evening He asked me to text him a picture of the leaking head, and immediately alerted me to the fact that it was a defective and recalled sprinkler head. Jack is extremely knowledgeable and recommended the right replacement heads, provided a very reasonable quote, and scheduled the job on short notice. The guys came over on-time on a Friday,
