When I started building homes 20 years ago, there were three things that I knew were important to me: my integrity, my belief in quality, and my commitment to learning and innovating. Looking back, my clients will attest that these three factors distinguish our team's work from other builders. When other builders have expanded, we stayed small - intentionally.
We work exclusively on high-end custom projects - both new construction and renovations - because it is in these projects that client service, a long-term view of home quality, and incorporation of home automation and energy-efficient practices matter the most. Building a home can be scary. For most people, it's the largest investment of their lives.
But like buying your wife's wedding ring or taking your car to the mechanic, it can feel uncomfortable to not know all the answers yourself. For me, navigating this journey with clients is what gives me the most joy. I believe integrity and trust matter more than anything else in a successful client-builder team.

Lowell built my house in Germantown, TN in 2005. I owned the home for 13 years and Lowell stood behind his work the entire time. He does things right the first go round and holds his sub-contractors to a high standard. Recently, I renovated a house in CT using a General Contractor. I was reminded everyday of how much I wished Lowell could have been the GC on this job. I was low balled on the project's budget and the subs were held to no standard. We recently renovated our entire downstairs, including our kitchen, den, wet bar, dining room, half bathroom, laundry room and pantry. Our project included new hardwood floors, smooth ceilings, all new lighting, new kitchen cabinets and island, granite countertops, built in shelves and renovated fireplace, enlarged the wet bar, new banquet seating in kitchen, all new exterior doors and fresh painting in all rooms.

Recently I used Lowell Hays construction to update the exterior of our house. He said he would spiff it up, and that’s exactly what he did, and we were so pleased. We got a new roof, fresh paint, porch remodel, new lights,and a new walkway. I had some ideas when I first consulted with him, and he used them and improved upon them. Lowell was pleasant to work with, responded quickly to texts, emails, or phone calls. Now my house looks great and badly needs landscaping; Lowell was kind enough to give me recommendations for landscapers.

In 2014 Lowell built a farmhouse for my family in Hardeman County, Tennessee, about an hour drive east of Memphis. Three years ago we used Lowell Hays to update our house he is perhaps the best of the best when it comes to contractors.
- His estimate ($100,000) was put in writing and he had no overages. As always in construction some things weren't perfect the first attempt. Lowell would always catch problems and fix them without us asking.
- We would leave town during construction and he personally made sure our house was locked up every night. We had zero problems with theft.
- When things were delayed or problems arose Lowell would call and explain why. He always answered our texts or phone calls quickly
