Our company began In 1961, as DURALUM AWNINGS, started by a visionary by the name of Ed Sorenson. Mr. Sorenson had started working in the then "new" aluminum awning industry just at the end of World War II. Aluminum had been hard to get during the War, but with its end, aluminum manufacturers were looking for new products.
Since 1992, Duralum has invested over 2 million dollars in developing engineering documents certified by a National Rating Agency. These certifications insure that the product you receive meets or exceeds the State and local building requirements as outlined to Duralum by your contractor. Our engineering standards will always meet or exceed your State, County, and City requirements as applicable.
We do all our manufacturing of structural aluminum components in-house to insure each component meets the highest standards in the industry as dictated by nationally approval agencies and California State Quality Control Standards. All our equipment is built from the ground up. That way we can control the quality of our product and insure the reliability and functionality of our manufacturing process.
All of us at Duralum believe that supporting our staff and community are important parts of being the personal company we strive to be. Through various funding efforts throughout the year, Duralum and its staff "give back" to their communities and help where they can. These are a few of the efforts we are most proud to support.

The search for what to use for an awning can be frustrating and tedious. I wanted something durable, low maintenance and nice looking. I hired New Dawn Awning and they solely use Duralum products. From the pictures I saw I decided to go with it. I was not disappointed! It is stunning! The materials are strong and beautiful!

This company is amazing. Unfortunately, I hired a horrible contractor, who is now out of business, and left my patio cover only mostly done. I reached out to Duralum directly and they helped me get my remaining finishing pieces so that my patio cover would be complete. Their customer service is incredible and I'm very happy with their product. Do not hesitate to use their product!!

I can tell the customer service is superior for this product. I have a similar product (different brand). I was looking at my back yard patio cover wondering how I was going to obtain certain trim pieces to finish what was an unfinished project. I noticed two Duralum techs finishing a patio cover in my next door neighbors back yard. I ask them if they knew if the trim pieces existed for my patio cover. They were nice enough to inform me that the pieces do exist, and that my manufacturer does carry them. They also let me know the importance of those specific trim pieces. Before I knew it

We've received many compliments on our Duralum shade structure that was installed in 2002. But that is not why I'm writing this review. This last winter's storm blew off three end caps. Barnett Home Improvements installed new rain gutters recently and noticed the caps were gone. They provided 4 caps they got at Duralum which were not the right size or exact color. When we took them to Duralum, they replaced them with the correct ones at no charge. When I opened the bag, I found they had given us 6 end caps! Certainly can't ask for any better customer service than that! Especially
