A second-generation mason, David Koppen began his career by working under his father, Charles Koppen - a local bricklayer and masonry contractor. He also learned some tricks of the trade from his uncle who was in the stucco business. David joined the Union Bricklayers Local #1, served an apprenticeship for three years and was taught by local craftsmen the correct methods of construction.
The people who work for Koppen Concrete and Masonry are full-time employees and are paid a fair wage. They are not subcontractors (which you will find that some companies try to do - saving them costs, but increasing potential risks to you). This is important, because if someone is hurt while performing work for you on your property, it could be a liability to you if your builder does not carry the proper insurance.
