There are not enough words to describe the terrible customer service (except from Kari) and follow thru that this company has. I was told I would get a call Mon or Tues when the one of the guys, Dale, returned from vacation, it was over a week later after I initated another call. He came out to give us an estimate, and said I would get a drawing within the next few days. I was given an install date, and never told that i needed to put half down to hold it. I had a fireplace remote that would no longer work. (Unknown place and time of purchase) The gentleman examined it closely, pressed on the battery access door and it began working. Works well at home too. He could have sold me a new unit, but instead got the old one to work. No charge. If I ever need parts, supplies or a new fireplace. This is where I'm going. This review describes our second experience with Black Hills Fireplace. We purchased a different home and wanted it to have as great a fireplace as the first. Relying on our excellent experience from 1 1/2 years ago, we contacted them to create a very attractive replacement. We discussed designs and selected a corner location. We chose the same model Regency fireplace as the first because it had functioned perfectly. Once again, we selected stone from Dakota Stone. A few weeks later Dale and Rod began work. Called asking for service to fix or replace the blower on our Lenox gas fireplace. The "repairman" called late afternoon and wanted to come within a half hour. His car couldn't make it up the hill near our house due to snow in his personal car (No company vehicle?), so I drove and picked him up. In about 15 minutes, he declared the blower needed replacing. We already knew it was not working right and wanted to know if it could be repaired. Apparently not.
What really ticked me off was that I had been quoted $90 for a diagnostic call ... He said he wanted $125. When I told him we were quoted $90

Just bought a fireplace for my wife for Christmas. They were nice enough to hold it for me for almost a month and were very courteous throughout the whole process. The fireplace itself only took about 15 minutes to put together and it is amazing so far! Absolutely recommend these guys for any and all of your fireplace needs.
