The year was 1986 and my wife and I had just purchased our first home - a townhouse in Southern Howard County. We had a small cocker spaniel at the time and wanted a privacy fence so she could enjoy the freedoms of her very first backyard. We sought out the usual estimates and soon thereafter, experienced sticker shock.
A well-built fence can greatly enhance the beauty of one's backyard. FBD offers a variety of styles and heights which can be customized to suit your needs. Wood choices include pressure treated southern yellow pine and western red cedar (dependent upon availiblity); both can be sealed or simply remain in their natural state.

This started as a 5 star review, but their unresponsive to my request to give them more business has caused the review to drop to a 2 star review. Fences by Doug built a fence for me, but when I called them to request a door be put into my fence they did not respond. I contacted them via their website, left messages and spoke with a live person. I never received a call back or email in response to my messages.

Dave was tight on time for giving me the estimate. The price was extremely competitive. I gave him the contract and he was right on time with the installation. He did a wonderful job and left the place spotless. His crew were extremely polite and knowledgeable to my questions. We’ll be going back to him for all future work. Extremely satisfied!

So far so good! FBD installed a beautiful wooden privacy fence for us. Backstory on that - one side of the old fence was falling down (wasn't pretty), called FBD, and Doug (owner) came out within a few days and gave us a reasonable quote. He is knowledgeable, personable, and affordable! The quote was good for 45 days (usually 30 but extended for COVID). We got other quotes and no one could touch FBD's prices.
We had FBD remove/haul-away the existing fence and install the new one (190 linear ft). They did it all in one day! 2 workers did destruction and install and a 3rd worker

We had an amazing experience with Doug and the crew! We received several quotes, but FBD was by far the most professional, honest, and fairest priced. From start to finish, Doug and his wife Bev (who handles most of the correspondence), were easy to work with, and really patient with us and some snafus we ran into on our end prior to the project start. They gave us exactly what we wanted, left the work area really clean, and finished quickly. It was very evident that the crew felt appreciated and respected by Doug, which I always like to see. If we ever move and need a new fence I would 100% hire

We used FBD Fence Company for the second time. The first time was to put a fence around 3/4 of the yard as there was an existing fence already between us and the neighbors. The neighbors recently made a change which allowed us to complete our fence around the entire yard. Both times that we have worked with Doug and FBD it has been exceptional. Honest, too the point, listened to our concerns/needs & great quality of work. We have received compliments from the neighbors on how nice the fence looks. Responsible, competitive, did what he said he would do. His crews were efficient and cleaned up the yard after they were. done. The finished product was good looking and well constructed. Our gates settled a little bit, and Doug came out quickly to adjust the latches. Love this company.
