Cooling and HVAC units typically use evaporative cooling through either counterflow or crossflow systems, this can be further broken down to direct and indirect evaporative cooling. From the perspiration on your skin, to the transpiration from the pores on trees, evaporative cooling is found throughout the world; remember those misting fans everyone loved in the 90's?
Mechanical Concepts represents the highest quality engineered commercial HVAC products and systems solutions available in the commercial, institutional, and industrial markets. While we serve clients all over, our office is in Shreveport, LA. We serve clients throughout East Texas, North Louisiana, and South Arkansas.
This summer, Mechanical Concepts brings you service highlights that will help you prepare your system for fall and winter. An oil analysis, plus the related knowledge of a qualified and experienced service engineer, will provide valuable information about the internal condition of a compressor. As you are aware, the compressor is a critical part of an air conditioning unit.
While your cooling tower is down for maintenance and or cleaning don't forget about brushing chiller tubes and performing Eddy current testing. Also known as NDT (non-destructive testing). Eddy current testing is designed to detect, identify and locate signs of weakening in the condenser and/or evaporator tubes, before any leaks or failures occur.
