This man charged us $400 to look at our hot tub and said we needed a new control board that he would sell us for over $1300 plus at least another $400 to install. We had another tech diagnose the issue as a faulty heater that cost $150 and he replaced it for less than $200. I don’t know how he can live with himself knowing that he is purposely bilking people out of so much money. I hope people read these reviews before they hire him to come to their home. I wish I had read the reviews first. We plan on taking him to small claims court to recover our money and call attention to this man being

He requested $400 cash to show up, which would cover his "trip charge" and the first hour of work. No problem, we scheduled an appointment. Called me to let me know he was 20 minutes away. 1.5 hours later still had not arrived. Left him voicemail that I was leaving unless I heard from him in five minutes. He called back 20 minutes later,said he was in my neighborhood, just could not find my house. Gave instructions, he said he'd be there in 2 minutes, I told him I was turning around to come back. Got back to house, not there. Tried calling him 5 times, never answered. Finally

Cost of $400 just for him to show up for 1 hour. He preceded to cut all plug connections to pumps and heater to test. I told him they all work which h3 confirmed after hot wiring each part. He then told me I needed a new power pack for the price of $1,375 and then another $400 for another service call and 1 hour to make all connections. I told him I needed to think about it so he just put everything back in pack and left. He spent more time talkin* stories than working…..SCAM…..do not use.

Unfortunately I would not recommend Carl. I was hopeful (despite his recent reviews) when he originally called me back bc I couldn't find anyone that was still in business for hot tub repairs for an older hot tub in my area. Carl did not show up for our scheduled appointment, offered no apologies, was rude and very unprofessional. Thankfully I found someone else.

TOTAL SCAMMER!!!!!! DO NOT HIRE!!!! He showed up 3 hours late, demanded $400 cash. He told me the amount was for his service call, finding the problem, and 2 hours of labor and most parts. We already located the issue, he said he could fix it, I gave him the cash. He then said it would cost me another $370 for parts and labor. I told him no that was not our agreement, he said “it is what it is.” When I asked for my $200 back since there was no parts, no labor and 24 minutes of his time he refused. He was very unprofessional, he seemed to be on some type of alcohol or drugs. I was very nervous

BBB has this guy tied to Tri County Kitchens & Bath. Both have numerous complaints and are under alert with the BBB. Scam artists!
I filed a complaint with Ohio Attorney General on behalf of my client. We will be filing suit in small claims court. Have they taken your money? Advise you to do the same.

Total SCAM. Told me over the Phone that price would be $200 to look at then $1200 for néw Pump that was needed. Showed up and demanded $400 cash before he would look at it. I wrote him a check and he Looked at it for 15 min then wrote an estimate for triple what was quoted over the phone $3,600. I asked if this was a scam to get my initial $400 seed money for 15 min of work and he took off leaving my tub broke apart. I thought he was going to get tools but I went to my Driveway and he was gone. Probably to hurry and cash the check or something. He either has a muscular issue or was high on drugs

This guy is a con artist. He came out to our house and demanded double the agreed upon amount before he would begin working on our hot tub. He worked for ten minutes and then told us we had an irreparable leak. He packed up and was gone immediately - no receipt or documentation. Our hot tub has held water since the day he was here. He is unwilling to refund any of our money.

Karl answered my request on Home Advisor. He was very professional, responded immediately, and was able to diagnose my issue with our 20 year old hot tub within just a few minutes. He brings all parts with him so he can fix the issue immediately. He was straight forward about his prices and was very time sensitive. Thank you, Karl.

Karl came took part my hot tub left and refused to put it back together unless I paid him another $250. He is a scam artist. He lied about coming back to put it back together. He left me waiting for him for hours. I called him the next day and he refused to reassemble it. The guy is a thief. If you hire him you will not get the work done and he’ll just rip you off. I’d give him negative stars if I could. Loser.

Not even going to give him 1 star. Karl is horrible. Good thing im not a dummy and watched what he did. He charged me 250.00 to tell me my circuit board was bad and it would cost me 1000.00. Something struck me as not truthful so I sent him on his way. Called another guy, he came out and fixed my tub for 128.00. Turns out a wire came loose on the circ motor and someone prior to me owning it had wires crossed on the circuit board! NEVER use this company you will be sorry. So I sent him an email asking him to refund at least 125.00 figured he did travel so he deserved half. No response! I'm not surprised

Do not do business with A-1 Hot Tub Guy. On 7/29/2019, I called this business and spoke to Karl, apparently the owner, regarding a problem with our bath tub, specifically that the water jets were not working. He assured me that they were experts in the business. I was taken aback by his demand for a $125 appointment fee plus a one-hour minimum labor charge of $125/hour. The entire $250 had to be paid prior to sending a technician to our house. Reluctantly I agreed. My mistake. Within minutes, my credit card was charged.
