I highly recommend Shelter Alternatives for design and general contracting. Shelter Alternatives did a major home renovation for us that included completely removing the existing roof, replacing insulation with spray foam, replacing all duct work, and installing a new metal roof. The job also included completely demolishing and rebuilding one room, and converting attic space into another finished room.
The job required a lot of subcontractors who had to be coordinated and managed, especially for the roofing job. Shelter Alternatives was excellent about ensuring that all of the subcontractor work was completed correctly and to our satisfaction.

Bringing your dream home to life is the goal of our design/build process. Having a team of Field Supervisors and Designers who understand each other and our process helps to ensure continuity from concept to completion. Our process for additions and renovations begins with a visit to your home. In this initial meeting we will listen to your needs and seek out potential design solutions while taking the existing conditions into account. The design solution will be paired with a rough cost estimate for completing the work.
Bringing the inside out, bringing the outside in. We all love spending time outside, so designing and building spaces that enhance a home's connection to the outdoors is a special passion. We're fortunate to live in a climate that allows us to enjoy the outdoors for much of the year. Durable, creative, low maintenance solutions can expand your living space to include outdoor space.

Shelter Alternatives took our job when other installers said they couldn't do it, or were too busy. We needed a skylight replacement, and not even a well-known window and door company had the people to do it. Shelter Alternatives scheduled the job with us for a sunny day, arrived on time, did a great job, and was very polite & professional. The price was fair, and peace-of-mind remains outstanding. I'll definitely use them again, large or small job.
