Known for cheerful, colorful and layered spaces that are both functional and beautiful, Amal Kapen Interiors is dedicated to attention to detail and client service. Our philosophy is that a home is the tangible reflection of a homeowner's personality and that each space should bring joy and happiness to their inhabitants.
A first house for a young family on the North Shore of Long Island includes many British Colonial family heirlooms. The incorporation of personal treasures, art and mementos help to make a house a home and creates layered rooms with personality. We combined may of the family's antiques while still maintaining a youthful and welcoming space.
A charming colorful cottage in Locust Valley featured in Cottage and Bungalow magazine was inspired by the clients' antique French prints in red, white and blue. Small homes present unique challenges, so we made use of every nook in the space to maximize storage. The family loves color, so we added it in small doses through the furnishings and art.

We are OPEN! Amal Kapen Interiors & Decorations is a curated Design Shop filled with unique, new, vintage and antique furnishings, lighting, home accessories, art and tabletop items. The shop is located at 17 Green Street, in the heart of Huntington Village, NY. Open to the public Tuesday through Saturday 10-5 pm, Amal fills her store with items with things she loves and would like to use on her design jobs.

Amal has been our decorator for the last two years, for my wife, Dr. Diane Kramer, and myself. She has done an outstanding job of working with our taste and guiding us to successful choices. Everyone who walks into our townhouse loves it. She was particularly successful in helping us design a color scheme that works through our entire open floor plan. We also love all the upholstered furniture she picked out for us, giving us great choices. You will be in good hands if you become a client of Amal.
