I accidentally stumbled into a career that has become my lifes passion. Feeling unfulfilled as an operations manager at the Four Seasons Resort, I joined my Father In Law's Company - Stonebrook Landscape doing design, sales. Next, I joined the amazing team at Falling Waters Landscape to work alongside owner Ryan Prange.
I assisted him with landscape design and sales and served as the project manager of construction. My time under his tutelage taught me about outdoor space planning and dynamic plant and material combinations. I feel honored to have two incredible mentors and am now proud and prepared to bring you Brookside Design!

You can't work with better people than Brooks, Jenny, and the crew at Brookside. They are professional, personable, honest, and accessible. They had a terrific vision for our space but were also happy to accommodate our suggestions so that the end result was perfect for our needs. They worked diligently, stayed on budget, and were on top of every detail through the end of the project. We absolutely love the finished product and look forward to following their work for years to come.

My husband and I cannot recommend Brooks @ Brookside Design enough! We met brooks over three years ago while in the middle of completely ripping apart our entire back and front yard due to massive flooding from heavy rains and poor drainage. I have used Brooks on multiple projects (residential and commercial) over the years, and he always has brought a fresh perspective to each project and has delivered. Many designers have "one look" that they repeat each time as that is the path of minimal effort, as new clients reached out due to liking that look to begin with. If you're looking to have outdoor space that looks like your neighbors yard and is not unique like you're in a HOA, don't call Brooks.

We had been wanting to renovate our backyard for the past few years, and I am so glad we chose Brooks and Jenny from Brookside for the project. They did an incredible job with both the design and the execution. Communication was excellent the whole way through, and the final result turned out incredible. We wish we had known Brooks and Jenny earlier! They helped us with front yard landscaping and really enhancing the backyard design (that was done by another contractor). The whole process from beginning to end was wonderful.
The initial design itself was very creative. They suggesting some hardscaping that opened up the front door area, introduced a walled area that added dimension, and angled the entrance. Brooks also added thoughtful functionality to the alley way so we can move our garbage bins outside and a putting area in an unused portion of the backyard. Our place is so much more live-able

Brookside did an amazing job taking our front yard from a generic space and transforming into a functional, private space with our own personality. From the onset of meeting them in the planning phase, we jived with their personality and they listened to us. We had some elements, like breeze blocks, that we wanted to incorporate in the design and they didn't bat an eye. They came back to us quickly with a vision to put our ideas into practice with a great project plan/mood board.

We bought a new house a little over a year ago and had a vision for our dream backyard. The house already had the perfect pool but the rest of the backyard was less than to be desired with a fire pit that didn't work properly and some overgrown trees/shrubs in flower beds of dirt. Where do I start? From the beginning, he knew the answers to all my questions. It's like he sees the potential of the space and fits it to your desires!
What are my plant options? What could we do with this space? His knowledge blew me away, but what got me was that they want to design your dream space! He listened the entire time and made adjustments based on our individual home.

Brookside ran a gas line to our backyard fire pit. The project involved trenching through hard pan soil and tunneling under concrete...very heavy labor. The work was done quickly and the crew cleaned up thoroughly, afterward. We're enjoying our new fire pit and we recommend Brookside for your landscape project.

Nailed it! Brooks was one of 10+ design/build companies I had contacted for my project. I shared this with him during our initial phone conversation and he confidently told me that I could stop wasting my time with the others b/c he was the best man for the job.... I laughed initially and can't help but laugh now b/c he was right.

Quick message on Yelp and Brooks happened to be in the area. Called him when free and he came out to look over my yard. I have a very challenging job, but he was all over it with ideas, estimates and sharing his professional opinions. All this cost me nothing. Design estimates were very fair. I'm not 100% sure we're going to do this yard enhancement, but this review is based on the ease of getting assistance from Brookside design. Very professional, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. If I do move forward, these guys are at the top of my list.

I highly recommend Brookside Designs! After moving into our new home in Encinitas, we called Brookside for guidance. We are putting in a pool and needed a landscape design for the rest of the property. Excluding the pool installation, Brookside was able to offer solutions for all of our landscape design and construction needs, both front and backyard. Brooks was very knowledgeable about plants, hardscape, artificial turf, BBQ island, firepit, drainage, lighting, irrigation, etc. He's very creative and has a great eye for improving curb appeal. This may be the first time I've tried to track down a consultant as he's moved from company to company, even though I didn't even know him at that time. I had originally stumbled across photos of Brooks Crawford's landscape designs in the 66 Yelp and 8 Houzz reviews of Stonebrook Landscapes. How often do you do a 5star review when no services were actually rendered? Yes, pretty rare. However in this case I felt it warranted.
My family and I did not end up going with Brookside on a recent yard instillation, however their professionalism and fantastic communication gained them a solid few stars. I cant wait to get them in there for the next project.
