We are again thrilled by the excellent work done by Takoma Tree Experts!
First, it was a pleasure to communicate again with the owner, Bill Marvel, about our current tree trimming needs. He was responsive to our email and worked to set up a time for the work.
Franklin, the foreman, was very professional, friendly, and helpful with our goals for the work on our 2 old, large trees.
Then Franklin and his amazing team of 5 went into action again with their ballet in the sky. It ws all done so seamlessly and with such skill. Later, they cleaned up beautifully.
Now we feel so much more assured

Excellent experience using this company for some tree pruning work. From the expert initial consult with their owner Bill Marvil, a certified arborist, to the highly trained and professional crew that did the work, the entire process was a pleasure.
It was easy to keep in touch with them via email and the work was done in a timely manner and at a very reasonable cost. The cleanup afterward was perfect as well, couldn't even tell they had been here.
Definitely check them out for your next tree project.

My neighbor recommended Takoma Tree Experts after successfully using them and I could not be happier about my results as well. I had multiple large tree trimmings done and tree removal, too. The crew who came knew what they were doing, made my trees look great and the clean up was superb. Takoma Tree Experts is a wo company!

A large oak tree was growing some gnarly branches over my roof, so I needed some professional pruning. After signing the contract, I had to reach out multiple times to schedule after their typical two week scheduling window had passed and I had heard nothing. Then, after finally scheduling a time, they had to cancel on me the day of their expected arrival. They did arrive the next business day, and none of these scheduling issues would matter if they had done an adequate job. They did not.

I have a bunch of old trees in my back yard in varying stages of decay. I called out 4 different contractors for advice on how to best handle my situation and Takoma Tree Experts came out with basically the same recommendations as the other contractors, but they gave the best value per work estimate out of the bunch. There was one bid that was lower, but Takoma Tree Experts offered more services for their bid, so I went with them.

We have used Takoma Tree Experts for the past five years to regularly prune our crêpe myrtle trees, as well as to remove two large trees on the property. They do a great job with everything, including keeping other plantings safe and carting away debris. Sometimes other arborists will "top" a crêpe myrtle, which looks awful. Takoma Tree Experts don't do this. They trim and shape the tree so that it grows properly. I highly recommend their work!

Takoma Tree Experts did an amazing job of removing a very large 150-year-old oak tree from our property. The tree had unfortunately succumbed to chestnut borers. Our house in Takoma Park is built into a hill, and the tree was behind the house, hovering over our bedroom. Access with any kind of big machinery was not possible due to the location. We got several quotes for removing the tree, most of which included bringing in a large crane, which would require removing our front fence and would potentially damage our parking area and walkway. I cannot tell you how happy I am with the job they did yesterday on taking down a recently diseased oak tree that was over 75ft tall and spread out over 3-4 backyards and above wires. I had gotten 3-4 estimates and the estimates ranged from $5,500 (Takoma Tree Experts) up to $12,000 (not including stump grinding). Bill Marvil came out and gave me the estimate and he really seemed like he knew what he was talking about. He also for no extra charge got a waiver from the city for the work. Other companies said they'd have to remove fences and gates and possibly contact PEPCO to remove wires for

We had a 50+ foot tall elm that was too close to the house, and which we believe was touching the foundation. After receiving an estimate that we thought was too high (over $600), we found Takoma Tree Experts on Yelp. I requested an estimate, and got back something that I thought was far more reasonable (less than half of what the other company quoted me).

When you keep hearing the name of a business on various listserv's, you can be confident that the business treats the customer right....listserv people take no prisoners. I got an estimate for a 150 year old oak tree removal. Oak trees and earthquakes don't get along too good, that 2011 earthquake caused the tree to tilt. Takoma Trees had a fair estimate, I used another company in 2007, so I know that Takoma had a good price.
