Granite is what is known as an igneous rock that is formed when molten magma beneath the earth's crust flows into other rocks and minerals like feldspar and mica. As this magma begins to slowly cool and harden, granite is formed. The type of rock and composition of minerals that are present during formation will determine the specific color and unique patterns in the newly formed stone.
Marble is what is known as a metamorphic rock and can be found in regions all over the world. This natural stone is formed from carbonate materials that have been recrystallized beneath the earth's surface. Most commonly, marble is formed from limestone and and various minerals like sand, iron oxides and clay.
Quartz countertops are an engineered stone, created and manufactured by highly-trained and experienced countertop manufacturers. Your quartz countertops are created by combining crushed quartz with pigments for color and a small amount of polymer resins to hold everything together. Typically, this mixture will contain between 92% - 94% quartz with no more than 6% additives.

Their product is low quality and has started to show many yellow spots after less than 6 months from installation. I called and they simply stated it's natural for the minerals in the granite to rust. My once gray and white granite countertops look like someone left 1,000 cigarettes burning on it. I definitely would NOT recommend GD.

Poor customer service! Very rude over the phone. they came and installed our counter tops and the guy that came before to template them measured our island wrong and we had to wait another week to get it installed. Would not work with us over the phone. They showed up at 6:30 in the evening and didn’t leave untill after 9:00 that night

Was scheduled to have my counters installed in the "afternoon". About 2:00, I called Garnet Depot to see if they were still going to install this afternoon. Was told that it would be after 5:00. When questioning 5:00 as afternoon. The reply was that was afternoon. Finally got called about 5:30 that they were on their way and would arrive around 7:00. Not a happy camper.

Poor quality of work and even worse customer service. I have called 4 times and asked to speak to a manager but no one will return my calls. The main issue is that my new composite sink was buthchered. They took the sink with them to mount at the shop but mounted on site instead. The installers cut a piece off the lip of the sink on the back and cut several partial holes. This made it imposible for my plumber to install the faucet. The plumber said he had never seen such a mess. After several calls, the install crew came out to make the holes larger so the faucet could be securely mounted but now

The 7-10 days to installation is a lie, it took nearly a month to get the crooked product you see in the picture. It then took another week to get the replacement piece which was also crooked and the installation guy cut through my wall so the piece would fit "correctly". The custom chiseled edge is also a disaster as the edges are sharp enough to cut and looke more chipped than anything. Everyone I spoke to was apologetic which means zero because the installation crew left the old pice on my front porch promising to retrieve it the next day but 6 days has gone by and it's still there. I love my new kitchen countertops. Michelle made the process so easy, it went so smooth and without a single hiccup. She went above and beyond to answer all my questions. I will say this was the easiest part of my kitchen renovation. The installers were very professional and got the job done quickly and the result was perfection. Granite Depot has the best customer service of any retail business in the Tri-Cities. My wife and I bought our counter tops from Michelle. She far exceeded our expectations in the following categories: personalization, communication, professionalism, industry and product knowledge, kindness, and patience. Michelle worked with us for three weeks due to availability of the slab we were seeking. She ordered different slabs in for us to come and view. She walked the lot with us many times, and always was extremely helpful. Michelle texted us very often to provide updates and also made herself available

Granite Depot is the one and only business to get granite in the Tri-cities area! They are professional and personable. Top quality products, great people to work with from start to finish and their installation times beat all competitors. Should be 10 out of 5 stars. This is the second time I've done business with them in the last two years. This time mainly with the Boones Creek office for my convenience. The same excellent experience. The west market location was very helpful. Our sales lady communicated well and was very customer friendly. Which is why I am giving 5 stars. The Boones Creek location (where they actually make the stuff) on the other hand was not helpful. Never called. Lost our peices and had to remake them. Didn't call when they were done the second time. We had to call them. The guy working there is clueless and has no idea how to run a business or provide customer service. Offered no discount for having to wait 3 + weeks for a back splash and have it lost. Just unreal. They will get their own review.
