For more than 50 years Gruber-Latimer Restoration has been the "go to" company for stone and brick restoration, specializing in 18th and 19th centuries structures. Gruber-Latimer Restoration craftsmen have decades of experience and expertise in both residential and commercial projects. Gruber-Latimer Restoration was founded in 1968 and over the last half century has become the premier stone and brick restoration firm in the quad state area.

The company has helped restore many historic private homes as well as completing a significant number of projects in the commercial and public sector. Founded by Hagerstown businessman Dick Gruber, the company quickly began developing an expertise in historic construction techniques. Jack Latimer became the owner in 2001 and focused the company's efforts on masonry buildings in both the public and private sectors.

Historic preservationists are not alone - though it can sometimes seem that way. In fact, there is a near endless supply of products, experts and opinions. Here is a quick state-by-state resource guide, whether you are an old pro or just getting starting. These organizations know your community, they know your issues, and they are here to help.
We've had the opportunity to work on many historic homes, repointing brick and stone, repairing walls and stone foundations, and lending our skills to keep these stunning houses the special retreats their owners cherish. We've had a long relationship with Shepherd University, for example, helping them keep the beautiful buildings on the campus in good shape.
Each employee at Gruber-Latimer conducts himself/herself as a representative of the company while at the shop and office, on the job site, and engaging both with vendors and customers. This standard applies to speech, behavior, and attire. Accountability: Each employee takes direction from the Superintendent and reports to the Superintendent and/or company president.
