Fantastic service—the best in the area. I had a malfunctioning keypad on New Year’s Eve and the key would not work. It was freezing outside and it was impossible to get into the apartment.
Nick at Fred the Fixer was the only locksmith service in the whole city I could get on the phone. He helped me troubleshoot some issues and sent a photo to one of their locksmiths, Tim, who had been running around on jobs for the entire day helping people out. Tim was able to get over to my place in no time, unlock the door, fix my keypad, and make me two new keys in a flash—all while I sat in the warmth

LONG STORY but my husband was flying in to Sioux Falls, and the vehicle waiting for him to drive two more hours to home, was locked in the airport parking lot with the keys inside. He was in the air so I was scrambling to fix the problem. Called 2 places who were thankfully unavailable to help, because that led me to Fred. Fred the Fixer immediately said “we will help you, we just need to figure it out”. My husbands plane wasn’t landing until 7:30 pm, after hours, so They had an employee stop on their way home from work to unlock the truck and hide the keys, and it was only $47! I was prepared

So pleased as usual with Fred the Fixer. Rec'd great advice prior to purchasing a keypad about what configuration (keypad on deadbolt or keypad on handle?). They communicated (called to confirm and again prior to appt). The install went so smoothly. But the reasonable price was really the icing on the cake.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality
Took a cylinder in for a 1974 VW Thing to get a key made. Not only did they not cut a key, they LOST springs and the sliding cover! These were original and impossible to find! No culpability, no remorse, nothing! Will NEVER recommend this business to ANYONE!! Sad. Longtime Sioux Falls business. Must be time to hang it up

We were visiting family in Sioux Falls, and I forgot the keys to our Yakima roof box back in Wisconsin. :-( A quick trip to Fred the Fixer, and 15 minutes later they had rekeyed my roof box. This place has been around since 1911, and I see why. Fast, fair, and a life saver. Thank you Fred the Fixer!
