A drive-up unit is an outside unit that gives you the ability to load your belongings directly from a vehicle or truck. Roll-up doors are the most common door in self-storage. They are accessed by sliding a latch and lifting the door upward, similar to the motion of a garage door. Roll-up doors allow you to maximize the usage of your space.
Keep an inventory of the items you store. If you are looking for something, you won't have to wonder whether or not it is in your storage unit. Put plastic on the floor of your unit to keep your items clean and to protect them in case something leaks. Label the contents of your containers. You can use labels of different colors for particular rooms or to identify the belongings of different people.

We chose this facility since it was the closest to our home and paid for a year for a 10' x 30' unit. Shortly after our year was up, we decided to move to a bigger house and went to grab a few things out of the unit. After removing a few items, we noticed that all of our stuff at floor level had mold on it and that the floor was damp. Needless to say, we emptied the unit and had the manager come and take pictures of many of the items with mold on it. We were able to clean our oak furniture, but some items like our La-z-boy recliners were not salvageable. Since the issue was caused by their floor
