Jon O'Malley, owner of The Blind Buddy, started working in the window treatment business when he was a sophomore in high school for a family owned company named Lark Blind and Shade. He worked there every summer and while attending college for about 8 years. Jon eventually began working as an installer for another company in the suburbs.
During this time he also did side jobs for family and friends, buying the products online. While working there, Jon met a sales rep for a well known distributor who set him up with his own account and he was off and running. In 1996, Jon joined law enforcement, expanding his contact base selling blinds to fellow workers and friends.
He became a fireman in 2006 and continued to expand his blind business, supplying custom window treatments at very affordable prices. Jon has been in the blind business for over 25 years and enjoys seeing his customers when their new treatments are installed and they are happy with their choices.

I can't speak to this guy's blinds business, but I can tell you about his driving. He made an illegal right turn off of 90/94 today, cutting off traffic making a left with a green arrow, and then switched lanes with unsafe distances without a turn signal. For these reasons, I would hesitate to trust him with any task requiring diligence and care...including installing window treatments.

Jon recently installed sun shades and wooden blinds in our new home. He was quick, efficient and honest. I did not feel pressured to purchase a certain kind of window treatment and he was very knowledgeable about his products and ensured we received the best bang for our buck. Extremely flexible with our schedules and top notch customer service. Have and will continue to refer Jon to others. Would not hesitate to call Jon again for future projects.

Jon originally installed our mechanical front window blinds about 7 years ago. When my wife and me were getting ready to sell our place this year, we realised that we hadn't used them in awhile and that they weren't working! With a tight deadline to close on our place, we needed to get the blinds fixed or replaced fast. Jon was so quick to respond, coming to check out the blinds within a 24 hour window. He was able to fix one of the two blinds right there and quickly ordered the 2nd blind for replacement. Jon put aside some of his own personal committments to make sure we had the blinds
