Boathouse On The Bay

Had lunch here, hubby had whitefish chowder which was too thick, and there was not enough fish in it. The lobster roll was just ok. It did not have enough seasoning for me and the finely chopped onions and celery I like in mine were non existent or very minimal. It does have a nice room overlooking the bay. I might go back and try something else on the menu.

Fantastic restaurant with friendly and prompt service. I came here with my dad, who has limited mobility. I called ahead and the hostess was waiting for us when we arrived and got us right to a table. The waiter was friendly and prompt. Based on his recommendation I had the lobster roll and my dad had the fish chowder. The lobster roll was delicious. Huge chunks of lobster, and light on the dressing the roll was large and toasted just right. I highly recommend. My dad gave the chowder two thumbs up as well. If you're in Sister Bay, definitely check this place out. Worth it.

Wife and I went here on Tuesday 19th arriving at 1:10, which was not overly busy. We ordered a Whitefish Po Boy and a Burger. While waiting 5 other tables were sat and got there food before we did. The server even brought over another tables food thinking it was ours. We waited 55 min for our food to arrive hoping it would be something special, was greatly disappointed. The server told us that the tickets were done in shifts, which made no sense because we were there well before those other tables. Come to find out at the end that he didn't even put our order in until AFTER the others.

Late lunch. Tried Boathouse on the Bay for the first time today. Beautiful view. Hubby had the Lobster roll sandwich and loved it. (Extra kudos for having a GF roll option.) Not many non-seafood options, so I settled for a kids burger (served with fries) and a side salad. Hamburger was horrible (not sure 100% beef... not sure... not edible). Fries and salad were fine. Three stars because our bill was $68 for our two sandwiches and iced tea! Too pricey!

Beautiful place right by the water. Have to get peel and eat shrimp!!! They are delicious! Had the catfish po boy and lobster roll. Both were amazing!!!! Lobster roll bread was warm and buttery with the huge amount of lobster and stuffing (onions, celery). It had just the right amount of everything and the claw meat was sweet and big chunks were sprinkled within the mixture.

Catfish was amazing, hot and the Cajun Mayo was super tasty! Huge portion but just the right amount that you are full!

Definitely worth eating and you can't believe the views even staying inside or out.

First off, nice atmosphere and welcoming staff. I ordered the blackened whitefish, notice here there's no fish and that's because it was just too damn good. Just a smidge pricey but it doesn't have to be and it's accurate. Go here if you like good food.

I thought it was on the water, but it's as close to the water you'll get, just on the other side of the street. Dog friendly on the outdoor patio which was nice since my friend and I brought my dog up to Door County for the day. They brought him a water bowl which was sweet! We got the shrimp cocktail and I had the pain killer cocktail which was delicious. My friend got the fish of the day, which looked yummy. I wish I got that instead of the fried shrimp basket. Amazing place to watch the sunset. I had calamari and it was thick and perfectly fried. My man had lobster Mac and I totally had to steal a few bites cuz it was to die for. The side salad, he didn't want so I ate it, and oh my god everything was so fresh and their croutons are perfect. I was so surprised that a side salad could be that good. The highlight of the night for me was the cucumber watermelon mojito--- omg!!!! They were super busy abut the staff do a great job at handling it and making it work.

We had to wait about an hour for a Tuesday evening table which was probably a sign that it's a popular spot with good food. My companions all had the blackened whitefish which was very good. I had a wedge salad with a tuna add on. The tuna was HUGE and was prepared just right. Sesame encrusted and lightly seared. Top notch piece of tuna by anyone's standard and I could hardly eat it all.

Good food but not great. We got the walleye dinner special. My husband's fish had bones in it. The sauce on top added a little flavor but it needed something more.

Went there on a Tuesday, which, if you don't know, is the day more than half of the local restaurants are closed (plan your trip to Ephraim/Sister Bay/Ellison Bay accordingly). Good service, decent prices. I had the local whitefish, blackened, and it was pretty tasty. We sat at the bar and had a great view of the bay. They had a few good pilsners on draft, don't get me started on IPA's. Recommend!

Got a taste for a fresh catch on the water, Boathouse on the Bay? This is your spot. Do expect higher than average prices & a long wait unless you beat the lunch or dinner rush. Between the shrimp po boy, lobster roll, & white fish meals, the quality of our meals was pretty good. The few small blemishes for us though that are worth mentioning. The white fish (healthy portion) didn't come with the tartar sauce on the side like we asked when placing our carry out order. The fries were sub par & sort of dry. Really can be improved. The pie slices were super over price. $8 for a small

Great service and really tasty lobster rolls and lobster mac. The fries were thin and crispy, just how I like them. Loved the outdoor seating and watching the sunset as we ate. The kid's meals were really overpriced, but I felt the lobster dishes were on point and totally worth it. I'd definitely go back.

Boathouse On the Bay has a beautiful view. The food is good, but definitely priced with the view in mind. The service is good and polite. I got the whitefish pboy and was slightly disappointed that I had to assemble it myself. The lobster roll was also very good and had plenty of lobster, but it was well deserved at a price of $29.

Anytime we visit Door County this is our go to spot! They have amazing fall off the bone ribs! Gorgeous views. Good cocktail menu. Great service. The menu could use more appetizer options but otherwise highly recommend.

We went to see the goats on the roof, but the wait was too long, so we went on down the road and found the "Boathouse". We first wanted to sit outside but then we noticed the bar upstairs and what and awesome view. We meet Curtis one of the bartenders, what a awesome young man! He recommended two of the main delicious entrees, the Blackened Whitefish and the Seared Ahi Tuna. They were both great tasting and good sized.

Fast service and great staff.
Cheese curds were great. The dinner special was a great chocie and the lobster roll was especially a hit at the table.
The cucumber watermelon Mojito cocktail was super refreshing on this hot day.

Excellent service. Ribs were tender and full of flavor. Cocktails were delicious. Didn't have enough room for dessert unfortunately. Also if it were nicer out I would have liked to try out the outdoor patio seating.

We were enjoying a day trip to Door County. My sweet wife decided it was time to have a lunch. She had researched the area and came up with a suggestion to go to the Boathouse on the Bay. There are several options for seating, upstairs on the open porch, downstairs in a well lit enclosed porch and , where we sat, inside around the bar area. Signs notified us that the wait staff was vaccinated, yet tables were spread out.

We were recommended this place by a local so we knew it had to be good but good is an understatement. Let’s start with the service; kind, quick, efficient, and so polite it will make the experience alone worth it. The Cherry Mojito is the drink to get here. Not too sweet and very flavorful. The cheese curds are so cheesy and are made with a very good cheddar. The lobster roll is to die for and the ribs are so very tender. All in all I’d highly recommend this place.

We have been visiting door County and decided to stop off at the restaurant as this is the first time in 20 years I've ever eaten here. The view is fantastic the food was very good the only issue was that we waited at the front for someone to seat us until the young gentleman who seem to be a bus boy took the initiative to seat us upon request. I would strongly advise eating here it was awesome!

My husband and I happened to pass by and opted to stop for a late lunch. It was our first time at Boathouse On The Bay. The waitress was energetic and welcoming and was happy to suggest dishes for us. We decided on a classic burger and their house specialty - their famous Lobster Roll. Hubby and I split each to try it and they were equally amazing! My husband said the Lobster Roll was the best he has ever had and that he would easily return just to get it! Safe and accommodating carryout system set up! My husband and I shared cheese curds, a bowl of whitefish chowder, and a lobster roll... I cannot recommend them all enough! Such a tasty meal! The set-up our bag of carryout in a perfect way so
the soup wouldn't spill. Everything was still perfect temperate after our 10 minute drive back to our hotel.

I always wanted to stop here but the wait was usually two hours or more. Thanks to Covid we were able to get a table right away. Server was very friendly and helpful for advice on tourist spots. The fish fry was excellent but the calamari was average and Kind of oily/needed to be drained better. Other than that the view is spectacular and the place is clean.

This place was awesome. My wife and I went for dinner last night and sat inside. It's right on the lake and the view is great.

Inside is super cool. It looks like, we'll, a boat house or you almost feel like you are in a ship kind of. The decor is real nice and not overwhelming, almost calming.

Our waitress was fast, attentive, nice, and did a really good job.

I ordered shrimp and my wife a crab role, and both were very good. We also got fried calamari and my wife said it may be one the best ones she had. Best authentic ones at least.

Had lunch on a blustery and warm Sunday afternoon, seated on the top deck. We started with an order of cheese curds and my cousin ordered a sparkling water with lemon.
