Chris started work in remodeling, helping a family friend at age 16. Learning the value of hard work early in life, and being disenchanted with the prospects of living an educated life working at a desk, he lost interest in college and continued refining his construction, and woodworking skills by learning to build and repair violin family instruments.
Because many clients are unclear about their project, their biggest fear is being taken advantage of. It's been our experience that most people will often think if they share their budget with us, we'll raise our original prices to match their budget. In fact, most of the time their numbers are much lower than what it really takes to build the project.

Surpassed expectations. Until I found East Austin Carpenters, I didn't think replacing architecturally significant windows on my mid-century home was going to be affordable or desirable for design reasons. Other companies gave quotes over budget and would've taken three inches off the glass to make the frames. Then Chris came out and determined it was possible to trim in tempered, low-e, double paned glass with wood. The windows look amazing! The room is more energy efficient and they're absolutely beautiful. Chris was professional and came through with a great solution to a tricky problem.

EAC Helped us out with getting this 600 sf patio cover built while we went on vacation. Chris was very willing work within our budget and very responsive to my communications. Their electrician also gave us a discount after discovering some bad news, issues with our panel that needed attention. 100 percent recommend using them for your next project!

I hired Chris and his crew do repair work on a deck that sits on top of a flat roof. The deck was in bad shape due to poor maintenance by previous owners and the roof had developed a leak, so the idea was to pull up the deck, fix the leak and then build a new deck. Chris quoted a reasonable price and his team worked efficiently to get the job done. Overall, the carpentry on the deck looks great. I did take issue with the way they did one thing, and though it was a pain to fix, Chris made it happen when I asked.

Mr. Lambert gave an honest assessment that the work I was considering before selling my house wouldn’t provide a positive ROI. He was still able to provide a quote for design services, which was helpful to understand the size of the project I was considering. Ultimately, I was able to sell my house in as-is condition, so I did not have the job done, but I appreciated the honest advice rather than someone trying to sell me a job that would have lost me money.

These guys literally saved me thousands of dollars. Everyone else wanted to replace some damaged doors that I knew could be repaired. My previous carpenter I found was MIA and I learned later would not wear a mask in my home. I emailed Chris and he was quick to respond, listened to me be neurotic about the job over the phone and then in person, and ensured me he and his team would wear masks (and they did!) Rudy, who did the bulk of the work, was great and very courteous and tidy! There were a few problems I found after they left but Chris and Rudy were back the next morning and fixed it right

These guys came in to do a semi-custom cabinet job . I hired chris and he sends me someone else who mucks up the whole thing. They then come back and try to correct his mistakes; they take no time at the end to go over things and make sure you can even open all the cabinets without things falling apart. The best part was that they essentially ran out at the end of the day before any inspection with no plan to ever complete the job, and then had the audacity to send me a huge bill. I have had to spend $1000s to fix their screwups and shortcuts. Avoid these guys at all costs!
