Mike Chu is very knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. He is honest and thorough when explaining any proposed work. Solar panel company noticed some screws sticking out on roof so called MRC. Mike came out to inspect, explained the situation and his recommendation. Luckily caught early so simple repair. Mike inspected other areas of roof and did some minor repairs at no additional cost. MRC is now my go to expert for any roofing questions or concerns.

MRC repaired our old roof eight years ago and just recently I needed some documentation concerning the roofing contract and warranty for that work. I called their office and guess what, they still had my file on hand and were able to provide me with the documentation that I needed within minutes. I bet most roofing companies in Hawaii couldn’t do that. Heck, I bet most roofing companies go out of business within five years and don’t keep any files. On the recommendation of a general home inspector, I needed a professional roofer to take a closer look at the roof. The home was in escrow and needed an inspection right away. It was the weekend and all offices were closed so I contacted through websites. Jon Vaughn responded Monday morning and was able to come that same afternoon. After his inspection, Jon declared the roof needed complete repair. He showed us photos, had sample of the rusted nails he found, and walked around the roof to show how loose some shingles were. I sit on the board of directors of my high-rise condominium in Waikiki. Ten years ago we re-roofed our building with a single-ply system even though my old Army buddy. Jon at MRC roofing, told me not to do that because single ply roofs don’t hold up to harsh tropical climate in Hawaii. So I am still waiting for a full refund with Mike Chu owner of MRC Roofing. The roof that he replaced on my home was completely removed after finding serious problems with what his company did when he repaired my roof. First, there were roofing nails found when the roof was removed of nails that went thru my electrical wires to my home. As to why my breaker kept tripping for two years. I was told by Mike Chu that I need to rewire my home because it was an old home and that I was trying to get his company to pay for new electrical wiring. I just had my roof redone by MRC. They provided me with a 50 year lifetime labor & material warranty, which means that the material manufacturer is now responsible for my roof if anything goes wrong with it due to material failure or workmanship issues. The manufacturer doesn't give this kind of warranty out to just anybody. They only give this warranty out to customers like me if the roof was installed by factory certified installers, which gives me peace of mind knowing my money was well spent.

I bought a house that needed a lot of interior and exterior work. The contractor kept adding unexpected costs to the project and when they told me I needed a new roof, I refused to work with them anymore. I contacted MRC Roofing and it was a great experience. They came right away to do an estimate and started the project quickly! The customer service was excellent as well as the crew that they sent to my home. Worst roofing company ever!! Would not do a ridge vent for me and told me they actually don't do ridge vents although their contract states otherwise. So now I am trying to find another company to complete their work of cooling down the roof. Also, they put a new shingle roof for me, but there were nails penetrating out of the shingles that were discovered by another roofing company and they pounded the nails in so hard it split the wood all around the eaves and I had to have them come back to fix it. I now have to go through the DCCA to get them to fix my roof so there is some ventilation

I was fortunate enough to be one of the first in our townhome subdivision to receive my new roof from MRC and it was great because that night, we had one of the biggest storms of the year. And my new roof was perfect. It saved my home from flooding. It looks great and the job was as professional as it gets. They were fast, and did their best to not interfere with our everyday life. They completed the job in a timely manner, the employees were are very nice and respectful, given the job itself being loud they still did a nice job of controlling the noise and were overall very clean. I just recently had my roof done by MRC. My roof got damaged during the heavy wind and rain. I have homeowners insurance but my insurance gave me a ridiculously low amount to fix my roof. It actually needed to be completely replaced and I know the amount the insurance gave me wasn't going to cover even half of the work. Mark Hill handled my insurance for me. I really appreciate that he took all the stress or of it. I appreciate his professionalism and expertise. I'm not sure how he was able to do what he did but thank you!!

Strong winds on the windward side blew half of my roof's shingles off! I immediately called my homeowners insurance company to file a claim - and they referred MRC. I placed a call and gave them all of my information and also let them know we urgently needed someone to come out ASAP to assess the damage and to tarp our roof immediately to prevent any water damage as the weather forecast showed rain in the next couple of days. We are on day 2 and I still haven't gotten a call back. Horrible customer service and I'm happy I called a few roofing companies with 5 star ratings on

Fantastic roofing Co. Mark Hill was my contact and he's the best. When the roofing material blew off my home he had his guys come over right away to put a temporary fix to stop the leaks since it was raining. He showed me the options for a permanent roof . Once I made my selection he came back with the final cost. A few weeks later a new roof was installed. I was extremely happy with the final results. They cleaned up very well after they were done. What can I say...... I would not recommend this company to anyone! Although the employees are very pleasant their customer service is horrible!! The owner was never on island, therefore, whenever I had an issue (and there were MANY) the office person always put me on hold (for lengthy amounts of time) or had to call me back later on in the day.

Well this review has been long awaiting with this company and the owner Mike Chu. He has now made a commercial which he states basically we as homeowners will have peace of mind for having his company roof your home. It has not been that in our case since he so called reroofed our home over a year ago. August,2015. From the very beginning when roofing our home, his crew bent our brand new gutters and then denied they even did anything.
