Before I wrote this I was a lumber yard virgin, always picking up lumber from the big chain stores. I was a bit nervous given my lack of experience with lumber yards. As my wood working skills evolved and improved I knew I needed to change the way I buy my lumber. A lot of reviews mentioned how kind and helpful the staff is at Austin Hardwoods. My experience mirrors those reviews. Staff was very nice to me and answered all my novice questions. They made sure I understood where to look for what I was looking for. My husband came home with some wood for shelves. He forgot to ask if they gave a military discount, so I called and explained that we already paid, but that he didn’t ask if they do military discounts before checking out. I spoke with Jack. He was unbelievably kind. Told us to send our receipt, and my husbands military ID, and that they would fix it. I was blown away with how understanding and nice he was. They didn’t have to adjust the price as it was our error. They definitely have customers for life with us.

Attention attention!! All contractors , DIY's Or just your artistic Craftsman . If you're looking for that hard to find exotic wood or just quality straight wood. The tools should get that project done you may find at Austin hardwoods . Great place and they've been around for a while . All their employees there know the INS and outs of all the breeds of the breeds of wood and what would work best for certain occasions. It's a great place

Love Austin’s! Gorgeous wood and staff is super friendly and helpful! Have been in a couple times recently and there are always people ready to help show you the ropes because it is confusing if you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for. Their selection is much more extensive than other places we’ve visited. People who complain about price in other reviews must not be educated on what lumber costs these days 😛 Can’t wait to go back for more wood for our renovations!

Stop shopping around and just go here. Prices are a bit higher than big box stores but they are easily justified. The quality you can get for just a little more money is astounding, they have just about every kind of wood in just about every shape and form.
Their customer service is INCREADIBLE nothing like what you will find at a big box store. I am a newby to wood working who just needed a few sheets of plywood, they treated me with the same enthusiasm and respect they gave to a seasoned pro buying 1000s worth of wood.

This is the best lumber store that I've been to along the front range, especially for a DIY woodworker. I drove up from Colorado Springs yesterday to purchase 250 Board Feet of various lumber species because their costs and selections were much better than CO Lumber. The staff was very helpful, especially Roy. They bring out pallets of the lumber that you want and they allow you to pick through the individual boards. Since I didn't have a helper with me, it would have been difficult for me to unstack, select and restack the heavy lumber since I needed wide, 8/4, 10' boards. Thankfully, Roy gave

Prices are high right now for lumber. Staff is friendly enough but purchasing wood is a somewhat odd process that's pretty unfamiliar to newbies and staff wasn't necessarily the most helpful with making my picks or finding what wood would work best for my project. Still I'll be back for the next one, they offer wayyy more than home Depot and other lumber yards recommend them when they don't have what you're looking for.

Great selection and good prices. The staff in the front of the house is top notch, and above all they treat my little girls like princesses, giving them candy and compliments (my girls visit often with me and love the place). The back of the house is on point also, with getting the orders filled promptly, correctly and friendly service. Overall Austin hardwood is as quality as the products they sell from tools to woods, and and I will continue to shop here and very highly recommend Austin hardwood.
