Our AC was lagging,never really hitting the target temp and sounding like an aerial assault every time it turned on...super loud!
Called Abe (for the 3-4th time) and we are now back in action! This time last night I was sweating with all the windows open. I'm now watching one of my favorite shows in a comfortable 74 degrees. Super grateful!

Abe contacted me right away after requesting a quote in the evening. He came out the very next day and fixed our AC quickly at a very reasonable price. I called them at 7:30 pm the night the AC went out on one of my rentals and they were able to come as early as the next day. Abe was our technician and he came right on time. He was able to diagnose and fix the unit within a few hours. We needed a new motor according to him and he was able to install it that same day. Abe was honest, polite and very professional. I would highly recommend them and I will be using them for any future ac beating problems that may occur.

I just had Sunset come out to service my a/c and what an amazing experience! I truly appreciate their honesty, courtesy and speed of service from my initial call to my appointment. They were informative and clean and my a/c is back up to what it should be. Pricing is fair and they don't try to upsell or automatically tell you that a new system is required. Abe and Eric were amazing to work with. They honored the price from a quote they gave us 9 months ago. They showed up exactly when they said we're going to. They were the only ones knowledgeable to find out what was actually wrong with our AC after countless technicians said there was nothing wrong. I completely trust them and their work. They give a warranty on labor and facilitate the warranty from the manufacturer. Highly recommend Abe and Eric.

I've used Sunset a few times on a couple of houses now. Always worked with Abe who's been professional and honest in all his dealings. Compared to other outfits, I think Sunset provides better value and they look out for things that others either don't bring up or try to tack on as an extra expense. Example, they included the price to replace too thin copper lines when replacing a very old system. Others either recommended to do that or didn't bring it up at all. If they find something unexpected/incorrect, they will raise it and handle it.

This review is way overdue! I thought I gave Abe 5 stars already, but today realized I never gave him his glowing review! My wife and I have been using Abe for years now. When we owned our place in Lake Forest he came out and gave us the honest truth about our A/C and we decided to use him. Since that time probably 8-10 years ago, we've used him for a few other things. This past summer 2020 our A/C went out, and on to Yelp I went. I was super excited when I came across Sunset Heating & Cooling and saw the pics and immediately thought "It's Abe!" He has his own business now

Abe and Eric came to install sediment trap and check the AC unit. So friendly and helpful, explaining each step in the process. I'll have them back any time and will recommend them to friends and my real estate clients!
After testing, The AC unit needed Freon. He explained the digital readout and what they should be. The Freon canister was on a scale so I could see exactly how much was used.
The service charge was half what other HVAC company quoted and because they preformed service, there was no service charge.

Sunset is an awesome and efficient company. My AC went out in Labor Day weekend with 100+ degree weather. While 90% of the companies on Yelp were closed for the weekend and the ones that were open, couldn't come out for 4-10 DAYS, Sunset came out in 90 minutes and fixed the problem. Their service fee and work fees were very affordable. THANK YOU SUNSET!

Best experience with any technicians! Abe and his partner Eric came to check out our AC that hasn't been blowing out cold air. They were extremely professional and thorough during the whole process. They invited my husband and I over to the unit to watch them test and add the stuff needed to get it going again. They told us upfront what the costs are per pound of free-on and had us watch the dials and weight add up. Each step was explained to us and we appreciated their honesty. Would highly recommend and will be calling them once our unit finally dies...hopefully not soon.

Air conditioning broke the week before a heat wave of course. Scheduled an appointment and the owner came out himself and was prompt and professional. Wore a face mask the entire time during the diagnostic and repair which had to be uncomfortable. Once he diagnosed the issue he drove to Irvine to the manufacturer to get the replacement part in order to finish the job that day. It was 92° and the following day was going to be 98°, so I really appreciated the effort he put in to repair my unit as quickly as possible. His prices seemed fair but I didn't shop around so I can't comment directly on

I first discovered Sunset Heating & Cooling maybe 7 years ago. I have been using them to service our AC units. They are very honest, reasonably priced and always looking out for the best and most economical solution for their customers.
So when we wanted to install a new air-conditioning system at my mother-in-law's home, choosing them was the obvious choice. Abe and his assistant, Robert, did a beautiful installation job! Had my Thermostat checked and replaced with a new one today by "Abe". He was punctual, polite, extremely helpful and knowledgeable, never tried to over sell us with uncessissary ad-ons, and was very professional. The appointment was only a 2 day window. The prices are very reasonable and you get great service.

I called Sunset to give me an estimate to change my furnace, one of my friends recommended this company. We already had two other estimates
but Sunset had the best price, same warranty, and brand as the others.
I didn't have to overthink my decision and went with Sunset. During the job they had my furnace removed we noticed there was a lot of debris and chucks of drywall inside the box. They did an excellent job cleaning and sealing the box while still maintaining my carpet clean. I'm very satisfied with the work Abe and his assistant did and I highly recommend Sunset Heating & Cooling!!!

Of course our AC broke on one of the hottest days! I scheduled an appointment and the earliest was 5 days out. I took it because I knew all the other heating and cooling companies would be an even longer wait. Repair men showed up on time and fixed the problem within 20 minutes. They were very friendly and took their time to explain the problem to us. Also, their prices are comparable if not cheaper than most estimates I received. I am keeping this company on my favorites list!
