Hi, My name is Mike Owen, owner of Northern Handyman Service. I like to fish, hunt, go four wheeling and anything outdoors. I enjoy spending time with friends, family and my dog. I have been a volunteer firefighter for Elcho for the past 13 years and do what I can for my community.
I worked as a maintenance technician for the past 12 years, before that I Installed cable and satellite T.V. around the U.S. and I also worked in the construction field doing almost anything you can think of in home repairs, I.E.After being laid off from my job of 12 years I decided to get back to doing exactly what I loved, working with my hands and helping people.
As for Northern Handyman Service L.L.C. I strive to provide reliable, trustworthy and prompt service to my customers. I am fully insured and can provide a certificate if requested. I can help with with basic household chores such as unclogging a drain, fixing a leaky pipe, changing a light bulb, switch or outlet to cleaning your gutters, painting a room or the whole house.

Northern Handyman Service, Mike did such a wonderful job on little cottage new roof. We had a hole in the roof and really needed a new roof to boot. He did a great job he remove the old shingles and repaired the hole and put new framing where needed. He even put new shingles on the big bird house on the roof too match the roof.
These are pictures of crawlspaces that were not working properly in the home envelope. The insulation was falling down, the plastic on the floor was just lying there with holes in it and the heat wasn't being allowed to the room above. This is a crawlspace under a bedroom, The mortar was missing from half the blocks and there was a gap between the foundation block and the bottom plate letting in cold air.

Mike did a great job pressure washing and staining my wrap around deck. Very nice person who researches his work if needed to be sure and provide a quality product and service. I highly recommend giving him a call on any of your construction, repair or maintenance needs around the house.

I can't thank Mike enough for all the work he did. Had major water damage with my windows along with several other household issues that he fully corrected. He is easy to communicate with and is extremely reliable. This is not a fake post. He is a valuable resource and one that I would highly recommend to anyone needing any sort of home repairs. Thanks a ton for everything you helped me get accomplished this year. I feel so much better than I did this spring when the reality of what was needed to be done was determined. Mike did an excellent job in first, securely planting and leveling a very heavy 20’ 6”x6” beam 4’ deep, then expertly mounting my new bat house at the top. Mike was responsive and reasonably priced and, being one of his customers, I now also have a dozen of his fresh eggs! I have more projects that I need help with and Mike will be my man.

We had gutters falling off our cabin and called Mike to fix it. He discovered installation issues from years ago were causing rotting wood behind the gutters. He sent photos of the damage (we live several hours away) and detailed what he could do to rectify the situation. We had him take care of it and it looks great. He did so much more than provide a cosmetic fix—he made sure to get to the root of the problem.
This winter as snow built up on our roof, he was the first person I thought of. Within a couple days we had the snow removed (3 to 4 feet). What a relief.

Wow, I will keep using Mike. I had a problem with my washing machine and Mike traveled a 1/2 hour (one way) just to get to my house. He was able to fix it without the necessity of buying parts. He refused to bill me. The large retailer that I bought the machine from wanted $125.00 just to inspect the machine. A friend gave me Mike’s name for miscellaneous household work and he was thrilled with the service so I thought I would give him a call. I highly recommend Mike!
