Rob and his team were amazing!! I called today to install new fireplace doors and they were so accommodating so that we can use our fireplace over thanksgiving and came today. Can’t say enough good things about this company. They came when they said they would, provided a written estimate up-front, made the repairs needed, and left it cleaner than when they arrived. What I really appreciated, however were the smart, friendly, and professional men who did the work. They communicated clearly about what they were doing and kept us posted along the way - it was a BIG job. We will definitely call them again.

Charmed chimney is absolutely amazing. We had work done by them on our chimney 7 years ago. We liked them so much we had them do an inspection for us on another property. We needed some time sensitive repairs done recently and everyone in the company from Kristen who answers calls, to Greg who set up our appointment to Rob and Bob who went out to our house, is incredibly responsive and helpful. Rob and Bob took the time to also discuss everything in full detail with me, and went above and beyond to get things done for us. I can’t recommend them enough!

Update (3 weeks after my original review): the owner eventually reached out to me via email and issued the refund. I added two stars back to my original one star rating for his responsible and professional communication with his customers, which I appreciate. I am not sure how the company estimates without a quick visual inspection of flues and chimney caps just like what the crew I had, but please make sure to tell them that you need an estimate only, not inspection reports, when scheduling for any repairs, so you won't be charged just for the estimate before repairs.

We originally asked them for cleaning our chimneys (we have 3), after we moved to our new house. Jason came over and did a full inspection of the chimneys (with the report pdf that was sent to us later), only to tell us that our chimneys are clean and don’t need cleaning. He charged us 10% of what we originally agreed to pay (for cleaning). We later had trouble using our wood burning chimney (it was very smoky) and being anxious about a problem, we called charmed chimney again. Jason came over again and explained to us how using a large wood burning fireplace is more tricky than a small one,

They completed the custom work and exterior work, and recognized there was no need for the interior work, so they adjusted the estimate to reflect that and gave us the good news of a lower price.

Alex and Rob were great! They were a half hour early! The original time window given to us was 10:00-2:00 and they came at 9:30. They not only inspected the fireplace and chimney, but showed us how to us it because we had never used a fireplace before. They were very professional and friendly. We will definitely use this company again and will be requesting Alex and Rob!

After our visit from Charmed Chimney Service, the pipe from the boiler to the chimney flue was not properly reconnected, resulting in an after hours service call to our oil company. Charmed Chimney assumed responsibility and reimbursed us for the service call. My husband said the original visit was also very professional and that things were explained to him very clearly.

Charmed Chimney Service first helped us with inspections. Following the initial visit and after a couple of weather-related delays (high winds and cold), they performed some mortar, crown and flashing repairs. Kristen, at the office, is courteous, professional and knowledgable. Even with the rescheduling, there were no glitches. She always knew about our job, provided pictures and invoices by email, accepted payment by phone. The business is great with text confirmations and call ahead notice. They were nice, they were polite, they showed up on time, and they gave me 1000's of memorized lines complimenting on how beautiful the house is. So if their primary job was to fish for 5 star yelp reviews, they did an outstanding job. But when it came to an actual inspection, they failed miserably. The technicians spent less than 5 minutes looking at the chimney and then spent about 15 minutes with their sales speech. It was the first time I saw a chimney inspector not even go on the roof.

They completed work inside and outside and kept everything clean as it was before they arrived. All of the staff we encounter when completing the work was exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly and answered all of my questions thoroughly.

Bob at Charmed Chimney Service is great! We called them on a Wednesday afternoon and needed a chimney inspection asap for a contract we had put in on a home. We live in AA Co and out of their normal service area. But, they were able to come out the next day before noon, meet our agent, complete the inspection and provide us with a report on the spot. We were out of town and they allowed us to mail them a check after the inspection. Their price was extremely reasonable and great customer service!

My husband and I recently bought a home in Columbia, Md, where one of the contingencies in our contract was a working fireplace (during home inspection, inspector was concerned abt damper/flue and stove insert). Long story short, it wasn't before we moved in but is now.
