I genuinely felt safer without the use of a security system than I feel relying on Safe Home Security.
We've had multiple instances of alarms going off at inappropriate times due to problems with the equipment. We've noticed a lack of knowledge about equipment and services from almost everyone we've spoken with at the company. The customer service department has been unhelpful. We were told that our account was inactive moments after the company unnecessarily dispatched emergency services to our address. Now we are struggling to have our service canceled. What an absolute headache

After a few appointment cancellations I called and was taken care of by Jake.. My alarm would not set the front door and turns out it was a loose battery.
All this done on the phone. The next service date would have been end of Feb. I am so happy the system is back working.

My family and I are selling our house, we have been with this company for over 12 years, the service has been acceptable, no big complaints until now. We continually get a run around answer and we’re told we have to pay $600 to cancel the service. We now have to send them countless pieces of information regarding the move and we still may have to pay $600 to cancel service. My system is been down for three months, and they still haven’t send anyone to fix. However I still paid my monthly bill. One day, my house got breaks in, and since the alarm is not fixed, we lost everything. After this, we want to cancel our contract, and the company still charge me $370 for cancellation. BE AWARE!! Stay away from this unscrupulous company! After I told them I didn't want to renew they sent a rep to my house and tricked my elderly father into signing his initials, which are the same as mine, on a 3-year contract. When I found out they used scare tactics saying the only way out would be to file a police report against my elderly father for fraud! I filled complaints with BBB and Attorney General!

We are eagerly awaiting the cancellation of our account. After dealing with erroneous equipment, rude customer service personnel and our account change requests being ignored, we have had enough. We’ve dealt with alarms going off randomly at 2am and continuing through the night, with no one on the line having any knowledge of how to stop it. False alarm after false alarm. Our system was out for entire month in September, we call them to get it fix up, they took almost a month to send someone out, we asked for reimbursement for the whole month without monitoring due to the system down. They said they will ask for above approval, it took them 4 months and there is still no email or anything related to the reimbursement at all. We call them to ask for cancellation due to their bad services they said we have to pay for the 90% buy out else we have to keep continuing with the contract. Very poor customer service. They hire outside installers ("Dealers") then disavow anything the installers do or say you. They will lock you in to long-term contracts (which they automatically renew when you allow them to "update" your equipment; even when the installer tells you that the equipment update will not change the terms of your original contract). And they charge you 90% of your remaining payments to cancel your service. (Even though the installer tells you, as they did with us, that there is no cancellation fee if you move.) I never heard of this company until it was time to cancel my contract. Back 2017 I signed up with a different company but I guess they sold my contract and never said anything. Anyway when I tried to cancel on 26 Oct, 2021 I was told that I couldn't do it over the phone and I had to request it via email which is weird but ok I do it. I called Safe Home to inquire about adding a warranty to my account. Jada was my attending rep. Although she was gone for the day by the time I was able to return her call, she called me back the following morning. Jada was very thorough, professional, and pleasant during the call. She answered all of my questions to my satisfaction. She did a very good job at explaining all the differences in the available warranties, convincing me to to go with the complete warranty because it offered to 'best bang for my twenty bucks'.

We signed with this company when we took over our unit from my mother. She had used them before. I should have examined the contract in detail, but trusted the salesperson, as he was a family friend. Now that cell towers are being upgraded, they want to charge the client for the upgrade. I would think that is the cost of doing business and they need to absorb it for clients that have an existing contract. But, no. Their website looks good, but their service is horrible! We're locked in to a 4-5 year contract with this company. What they don't tell you is that they only service (2) two times a week from like 9-3pm in my area! My system is down and have been waiting a month for service. Each time I schedule, the date changes when we get close. At one time they discontinued the service of calling the police, but our bill stayed the same. Who does that! We've been with safe home security for about 13 years. We just renewed for another 5 years. First, what I don't like- they lock you into a contract- don't like that at all.'Second- if the alarm is having issues and not working properly you often have to wait several weeks for a service appointment. This defeats the whole purpose of having a security system. What if we have a burglary while the system is waiting to be repaired- I guess that is on the homeowner. Shady company! Entered into a 5 year contract with this company. Now they are saying we have to pay an additional $5 a month and extend our contract another 3 years because of cell tower upgrades. That is not a consumers problem and the contract is binding for BOTH the consumer AND the company. When my wife called into the customer service manager Michael Kostek he was less than helpful and laughed at her when she said she would file a complaint with the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau. Worst security company. Equipment stopped working less than 6 months after they installed it and locked us into a 5 year contract. I have set 7 appointments. Only one has had someone show up. He disconnected and reconnected the alarm and told me it was faulty and I needed to pay hundreds of dollars to replace a part in it. I said that should be under warranty and I expected the company to fix it.... he said to work it out with them and left. Absolute scam. Once you've signed a contract and given them your credit card IT WILL BE NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE to stop them from illegally auto renewing. They will then send you to collections. The AG of Connecticut just won a $30 mil lawsuit against the owner and there's even a Facebook a support group. If anyone is interested in suing, I think we would have a strong case. If I could give them a ZERO star rating I would!!! Horrible horrible service. They called last year to do an upgrade to our control panel. They swapped out the board. So one of their customers created an account with this company using MY email address. I am getting all of her security alerts.

This business is absolutely horrible. I signed a contract with a a security installer company. That contract ended and it then went month to month. No where on my contract was Safe Home listed. My monitoring service was changed by my installer company. It was changed over the phone and I was never told via the Safe Home person or the installer company that written notice had to be sent.
