This craftsman style home provides the optimal spaces for a modern living. Nestled into the natural landscape, generous glazing allows light to penetrate deep into interior spaces for bright open living. The wrap-around front porch is both inviting and distinguishing by creating a strong visual link to the natural environment and providing the perfect place to read a book, drink a cup of coffee, or relax with a glass of wine.
Upon entry into this home, your visual focal point is the beautiful natural landscape of the secluded wooded lot. The master suite has direct access to the screened porch with an open vaulted ceiling. This simple yet open design creates ample living space with a large wrap around back porch. Off of the mudroom, we created a space for a doggie shower and complete man cave equipped with a large TV and pool table.
This modern home is meant to be used as both a Guest Quarters and Pool House that is adjacent to the client's main house and designed to be integrated into the overall master plan for the lot. The structure of the Pool House / Guest House was inspired by the clients' great love of modern clean lines.
This project is located in the Regency Area of Cary, nestled in a wooded lot on a cul-de-sac. The existing home was replete with many standard home features. The clients wanted to transform the main level of the home into an open plan with a large kitchen, grand entry foyer, and a butler's pantry. The addition expanded the footprint by only 250sf but dramatically changed the look and feel of the home.

Dawn did a fantastic job designing and architecting our whole home renovation. She incorporated what we were looking for along with a few of her own ideas and brought it all to life. She helped us with extending our outdoor living space, adding a large attached garage, updating our master with a new sunroom, and including a new guest room. Having worked professionally with commercial architects for many years, I had a sense of what I was looking for when my wife and I decided to find a residential architect to plan the addition & renovation to our home.
