Who doesn't love being surrounded by fabric? A wide variety of fabrics and a wealth of knowledge by owner and employees. Prices are comparable to other shops in the area.

Great selection but I felt like an unwanted stepchild in the shop. The owner was unfriendly and honestly quite rude. I spent almost $120 and would have spent more but I was treated so rudely I just stopped looking. I was made to feel like an inconvenience at the best. I won’t return. You would think a nice sale would make an owner happy not make that person feel unwelcome.

I keep giving this place a chance because I want to support local business and because well, I love quilting. I'm about to give up. I don't know if it's because I'm a man or if because I'm a "novice", but every time I go in they are so condescending. My first visit, one of the woman literally rolled her eyes at me. If you're a man, or not elitist, this might not be the place to visit. When Nancy was there, she would always

A great place to find good quality fabrics for quilting or craft projects. They have given me good ideas for new projects and helped me make a decision on finishing a project.

The Hen House is devoted to a type of quilter/crafter known as "primitive." Everything in this place is intentionally old-fashioned looking.

Not the place to go if you favor art quilts and batiks and modern fabric designers such as Amy Butler.

But if you prefer your textile creations to evoke aged antiques, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!

Looking around the Hen House, you'll see civil war repros, and lots of tea-stained or somber tones.

Hen House has more than just fabric, quilt patterns, books and notions. There is thread and embroidery floss -- lots of embroidery floss! They also
