Services
Carolina Asphalt was started in Charlotte, NC in 1982 by Pete Heynen and Rob Carr. Since then, the company has grown exponentially, increasing in size, sales, experience and even the addition of an additional shareholder, Amy Smallwood. Our staff of experienced sales representatives are trained to consult with property managers/owners on the condition of their lots and to craft the best solution based on the client's needs.
Whether YOU have an immediate need like a simple asphalt patch at a trouble spot or you are planning a long-term solution like milling & paving of an entire parking lot, the Carolina Asphalt team of experts can handle all your commercial paving needs on-schedule and within budget. We specialize in parking lots and pavement systems for Industrial, Office, Retail, Apartment Communities and Mixed-Use Developments.
Potholes, tree root intrusions, etc. are not only hazards to your tenants or customers, but they are hazardous to the life of your parking lot. Once cracks or potholes start forming, water seeps in causing damage to the asphalt and base underneath. The best time to catch these failures is when they are small to maintain your parking lot.
Oftentimes we're asked to help revitalize asphalt parking lots in various stages of disrepair or have reached the end of their service life. These lots must either be completely removed and replaced, which is very expensive and wasteful, or they can be recycled using full depth reclamation (F.D.R.), an environmentally friendly approach to revitalizing your parking lot.
Concrete is a strong, durable material most commonly used to create curb/gutters, sidewalks, dumpster and loading pads in parking lots. While concrete is extremely resilient, it's still susceptible to damage due to the elements and heavy vehicle traffic. If your concrete is damaged, uneven or spalling, you may be jeopardizing the safety of your tenants/customers which in turn puts you at risk of liability.

Had the pleasure of having a encounter with Carolina Asphalt early in 2020. The driver of the dump truck with trailer behind pulls up blocking the part of business he was wanting air from and then blocking 3 parking spots and a bay with a customers vehicle inside ready to be backed out. After being told to move around back from the owner of the business he was wanting the free air from, he still refused to move and demanding air. This is where my view of the business was formed and my decision to leave a review. He argues with me that he isn’t in the way and I’m not about to back the customers

Encountered Carolina Asphalt on 11-21-18 in Spartanburg SC where they were working on a parking lot at Cedar Springs Road. Of the 3 entrances to the working area, only one was blocked, a small orange cone 12" high sat to the left side of the second and the third was not marked or flagged in any manner. A word of caution, do not try to inform the Backhoe operator that the entrance is not blocked and that is why there are cars going through the work area because the only response you will get is "Get the F*** out of here". Business owners be advised if you have thoughts of contracting with them unless
